"Kyle Beym Home Improvement exceed all expectations! We hired KBHI to remove a very outdated looking wall attached to our fireplace, move the gas line, remove some outdated bricks in front of the fireplace and propose a solution for removal of the outdated wood. Kyle and his team were incredibly professional, clean and responsive. As an added bonus, he found the perfect compliment brick to replace the outdated wood that was wrapped around the fireplace. During the process, our flooring installers were behind and we needed Kyle's team to postpone a day or two--he did it without any issue and was right back to work instantly when the flooring people finished. His was amazing, kind, accommodating and very cost-effective. A+++ across the board and a true professional in everything he does. Thank you, Kyle! You made our remodel of our home that much more exceptional"

Bathtub Restoration questions, answered by experts

Epoxy is nonporous, so it won’t allow liquids, bacteria, or other contaminants to penetrate the surface. It’s highly water-resistant and easy to clean and maintain, another boon for modern homeowners. Epoxy remains a popular choice for counters, floors, and any surface where good hygiene is crucial.

Acrylic bathtubs can last up to 30 years without major issues if they receive the right care and maintenance. They can last even longer but might scratch or stain as they age. The expected longevity is a major factor when investing in a new tub. Cast-iron tubs are the longest-lasting option.

It’s substantially less expensive to reglaze a tub than to replace it. The average cost of reglazing a bathtub is between $400 and $700, but that range may be higher based on where you live and the type of tub you have. Meanwhile, if you want to replace the bathtub, you’re looking at $2,000 to $9,400, with the average close to $5,700.

Resurfacing a bathtub is less expensive than replacing one. Resurfacing a tub costs about $330 to $630, depending on the material, while replacing a tub costs an average of $4,150. But remember that resurfacing is a temporary solution for a worn-out tub, and you may need to refinish a tub every few years to keep it looking new.

Typically, you should wait two to three days to use your bathtub after it has been reglazed. This allows the epoxy resin to cure properly. However, the exact waiting time can vary depending on the materials used. Some quick-dry epoxy kits may cure in as little as 12 hours, while others might have a four-hour cure time, potentially allowing for same-day use. To ensure the epoxy dries correctly, ventilate the bathroom well during the curing period. Always check the manufacturer’s instructions and consult with your reglazing professional for specific guidance on when it's safe to use the tub.
