"Michael arrived as scheduled, evaluated our project, and quickly gave us an estimate for his work. We'd had other estimates and his was competitive. He also said that he could perform the work today. He described what he envisioned our problem to be and how he planned to fix it. He then set to work, and while he came across a couple of unforeseen complications, he was able to get the job done efficiently and cleaned up afterward. His charge was for the original estimate. When we have any plumbing needs in the future Major League is going to to be our first call."

"Everything went perfectly. Silverstone Landscaping did exactly what I wanted and more. Silverio and his team worked hard and long hours to get my project done. Taking out gravel, building a small retaining wall, putting in DG next to existing pavers. Silverio was very communicative, reasonable and on time. Even my neighbors were impressed about the hard and clean work. I would definitely hire him again. Thank you for a job well done."

"Marcus and his companion or co worker are patient, kind and highly professional. I am able to have him come in an emergency quickly and punctually and on time overnight. I would recommend their services to residents as well as commercial installations because of equipment's, knowledge and ability. "I hired Alvco for a plumbing repair I highly highly recommend Alvco. This is a family owned and operated entity. Tim and his brother are superb at all aspects of the business from technical expertise, on time arrival, and genuine customer care. They did a water heater replacement for me same day. They did not charge me extra for the rapid response and they quadruple checked their installation to ensure every aspect of the job was correctly executed. I also asked Tim to change the dimension of my heater as the outgoing unit i felt was to big for the closet it was located inside of. He fully supported my request and and now the new unit looks perfect. Tim and his brother are exceptional. I will use them on all my plumbing jobs going forward."

Storm Drain Installation questions, answered by experts

There are several potential causes of a gap at the top of your storm door. For one, your door may naturally start to sag as your house settles over time. Other possible explanations include loose screws, faulty hinges, damaged weatherstripping, or incorrect installation. The right solution for fixing a gap will depend on the cause.

Storm doors aren’t necessarily outdated. In fact, there are many benefits to installing a storm door, including improving your home’s energy efficiency, keeping pests out of your house, and protecting your home against the elements. However, storm doors aren’t great if you live in an area with high humidity because the door can trap heat and potentially damage your front door.

A storm door should be the same size as the front door. Both doors will fit into the same opening on the exterior of the home, so you can expect the storm door to be the same size as the front door. Most doors will be about 32 or 36 inches wide and 75 or 81 inches tall, although you can customize your door sizes.

Storm doors last about 25 years, although high-quality and well-maintained storm doors could last up to 50 years. The type of storm door can impact lifespan, so be sure to consider the durability of different frame materials and glass types before making a purchase. Also, keep in mind that while storm doors can typically mitigate the impact of strong winds and harsh weather, repeated exposure to storms can wear down the door and shorten its lifespan.

The time to install a storm door varies based on who is doing the work and the complexity of the job. Professional installation typically takes a few hours, often between 1 to 2 hours, ensuring a perfect fit. For a DIY project with a standard, pre-hung storm door, you can expect it to take about 3 to 5 hours. However, if the door opening needs to be expanded or significant frame adjustments are required, the installation could take more than a day, in which case hiring a professional is recommended.
