"The technician absolutely knew what he was doing. Recognized the problem straight away and fixed it in less time than I could imagine. Additionally, he installed a new toilet and hauled the old one away. The clean-up was amazing, it looked beautiful."

"Patrick did a great job with quick turnaround. I had planned to DIY my kitchen faucet/disposal/drain and water filter, but when I found some undetected water damage, I decided to have a professional do it. Boy, am I glad I did! Longo Plumbing (and Patrick in particular) did a great job, showed up on time, and took care of the entire setup, at the lowest cost of several companies. This was complicated by the fact that so much equipment needed to fit into a small space - the deeper sink, the RO system, the larger disposal, etc. All installed with meticulous detail and professionalism. He even came out a few days later at no cost when I thought there was a problem with the faucet, which turned out to be my error. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Longo Plumbing!!!"

"Chris is a very thorough & polite plumber that I would DEFINITELY hire again. I had several problems with worn out, ill-fitting, and corroded toilet parts, as well as spigots, faucets, and uneven water flow in faucets inside and outside. I decided to replace that older toilet that I called about. A new, nicer toilet wasn’t really that much more than replacing all those worn @ cracked parts in that older toilet that I didn’t like so much anyway (very low also). Thank you for submitting my name to him! He amazed me by carrying out the old, and carrying in the new toilets up and down 16 steps; by himself. Polite and never complaining!"

"My toilet was leaking from the tank. I called C & C Plumbing Pros. Matt explained to me that it was most likely an easy fix. He arrived on time, quickly confirmed what he suspected was the issue and was able to fix the problem! I'm so happy, I thought I'd have to replace my toilet and it was an easy and affordable fix! Thank you Matt for excellent service!"

"Art was very friendly and explained how the toilet should flush and potential problems for why not functioning the way it should. He discussed options and the costs for each one and his recommendations. My only complaint or somewhat of a complaint is the cost. $200 for snaking and changing the filler. Then if I wanted to make sure the line was really clear, $115 for the camera scope, etc. Just see the dollars adding up to what ultimately I may need to do is replace the toilet. But let me say, I appreciate that Art explained everything...very professional. Most likely will use him again unless I can find someone who is cheaper."

"We were able to get a quick appointment. The gentlemen showed up right on time and was kind and courteous. He was able to fix our pipe issues and it actually cost less than what I thought it would. I felt both men were professional and did an excellent job. I would certainly hire them for any other plumbing issues."

Toilets questions, answered by experts

Installation costs range from $150 to $400, depending on toilet type and labor.

Yes, you should caulk a toilet to the floor for several reasons. Bathrooms are constantly wet—and if water splashes out of your shower and collects on your floor, you don’t want it seeping underneath your toilet, where it could potentially cause damage. Plus, caulk adds stability and helps prevent your toilet from wobbling.

You definitely can over-tighten toilet tank bolts. Unlike some other materials, porcelain can’t bend or flex, so when you over-tighten a screw into it, it could break against the added pressure. Only tighten them as much as needed to keep them in place and firm; any more and you could risk breaking the porcelain.

Start by gutting the old fixtures and features that need to be removed, such as the tile, vanity, and flooring. You may benefit by removing the toilet, even if you intend to use the same one. Next, install the new shower or tub, followed by the flooring, and then the drywall, which you should then paint. After that, install your new cabinets, vanity, countertop, sink, and faucet, in that order. Replace your light fixture next. Lastly, reconnect the toilet.

Silicone-based caulk is known for its waterproofing qualities, so it’s the best option for any bathroom area. While it’s often more expensive, it will provide a better, longer-lasting seal than acrylic or latex caulk. Use it along the base of the toilet to prevent leaks and keep the area clean and protected.
