"I lived with a broken closet door for 25 years. They figured out a way to fix it! Then they worked solid for 3.5 hours moving mulch going up and down our hill to the garden."

"Chris is energetic, personable and knows his stuff! He provided a clear, fair contract outlining table activities and payments. Timely every day and cleaned up the site each day before leaving. He is comfortable and knowledgeable with County Inspectors and saved us hundreds by providing an alternate solution to satisfy a building code that won a final inspection approval. Wish I could post pics of the horrible bathroom, stained aging tub, crumbly wall tiles, old vanity and massive wooden medicine cabinet with stage lights overhead! Chris pulled it all out flooring too, we have a sleek gorgeous frameless, glass enclosed shower, matt black fixtures, marble slabs to the ceiling, click lock waterproof flooring in light gray white swirls to match the marble, navy blue vanity, white squared basin with matt black faucets and installed a Toolkiss mirror with defogger. Chris, came in on time and a TINY over to meet code. I'm hiring him for our next project!"

Kitchen and Bathroom Remodel questions, answered by experts

To make a bathroom look bigger, choose light-colored, medium- to large-format tiles. Light colors such as white, cream, or light gray make a space feel more open, while dark colors, busy patterns, and small tiles can make a bathroom feel smaller. It may seem counterintuitive, but small tiles can shrink a room visually due to the increased number of grout lines. Using medium- to large-format tiles creates a more seamless look. For the best effect, pair your light-colored tiles with a matching or similarly colored grout. This minimizes the grid-like pattern and gives the floor and walls a more continuous, uninterrupted appearance, helping the room feel significantly larger.

While bathrooms and kitchens are nearly equal in terms of renovation difficulty, kitchens are the most challenging. Kitchen design, layout, electrical, and plumbing needs all depend on each other for the success of the entire project, and mistakes early in the project can cause trouble later on.

Yes, you can put a bathroom in a bump-out. Some homeowners build a bump-out to enhance their bathrooms with new sinks, vanities, tubs, showers, or linen closets. Depending on the layout of your bathroom and what you’re adding to it, you may need to install new plumbing or reroute your existing plumbing lines.

A room makeover can take anywhere from a weekend to several weeks, depending on the scope. Simple projects like painting, rearranging furniture, or adding new decor may take a few days, while more extensive makeovers involving new flooring, lighting, or built-in features could take two to four weeks.

While a custom shower costs more and is trickier to install than a prefabricated type, tailoring the layout is particularly useful in small bathrooms with limited space and offers complete design freedom. You can build a shower bench for a family member with limited mobility or a shower niche (built-in, ingressed shelves) to hold clutter and act as a focal point.
