"I called ThermoTech Solutions and they sent out a technician within 24 hours. I was pleasantly surprised that the technician was the same gentleman I talked to over the phone so I did not have to retell what was wrong with my system. Jason my technician who is also the owner was great. He tested my system, knew exactly what was needed, and had it repaired the very same day. He did not try to sell me on upgrading my unit or a bunch of repairs I did not need. The service was fast, very reasonably priced, and I have had no issues since. Will definitely be having ThermoTech Solutions come out for all my HVAC needs in the future!"

"Furnace ran without trouble while Eric was here. He inspected it and ran tests, found nothing wrong. Charged us only for the visit, and didn't try to sell us any kind of additional services. But he provided a quote for a new unit in case the noise returned and we wanted to replace the furnace, which is 20 years old. The noise returned, and we will have Eric install the replacement in a couple of days. We are happy to be repeat customers because he was professional, prompt, and helpful during the first visit."

"I had to remind them to clean the dryer vent
a lot of tiime was spent trying to convince me to buy a fancy UV system for cleaning my HVAC, which I didn't want
I just wanted them to perform and service and leave -- I didn't sign up for a sales pitch

"My friends had installed a new HVAC system and they told me that the system improved the monthly utilities bills and the house is always warm. I contacted the company that made the installation and I spoke to Ezra. Ezra provide me with some basic information about them and about the system that they installed at my friend’s house and he asked me to pass by and look at my house in order to determine what will be the best system for my house. Ezra arrived to my house and checked the existing system and he explained to me the differences between that one to the new one. I decided to hire them and to go for the system. Before the installation, Ezra came over and did a special test that took close to 4 hours. He covered all the windows and ducts and ran a special machine that supposed to check and detect any leaks of energy. The end results of the test came out good and this was a good relief. The installation of the HAVC system went smoothly and without any issues. The work took 2 days and the new system start to prove itself. I must admit that I’m happy that I was referred to this company and that I hired them for this work.

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

Yes, a dehumidifier and air conditioner can be used simultaneously in a home. A dehumidifier can bolster an air conditioner’s efficiency. Typically, a dehumidifier is used when the air conditioner alone cannot keep a home’s humidity levels at a comfortable indoor humidity level, which should, ideally, be between 30% and 50%.

While an air conditioner can temporarily run with a dirty filter, it is not recommended as it will not work efficiently. A dirty filter forces the system to work harder to circulate cool air, leading to reduced airflow, increased wear and tear, and higher energy bills. This added strain can cause the air conditioner to overheat or fail prematurely. Furthermore, a clogged filter may allow dust and dirt to accumulate in your ductwork, negatively impacting air quality. It is more cost-effective to clean or replace filters regularly than to pay higher utility bills and risk needing to replace the entire AC unit.

Yes. Your air supply should be balanced. The return and supply ducts need to maintain that balance, and this only occurs because an equal amount of air should be entering and leaving your HVAC system. Changes in pressure, extreme weather, and blocking vents with furniture or your stuff can make the air supply unbalanced and cause your home to get too cold or hot.

To find a reputable HVAC company, start by researching providers in your area. Look for companies with mostly positive online reviews and check the Better Business Bureau’s website for customer complaints. Next, verify their credentials. Rule out any companies that aren’t licensed, as this is a requirement in some states and municipalities, and confirm they are insured. Once you have a shortlist, contact each professional to ask key questions: How many years of experience do you have? Do you hold any third-party certifications? Do you have experience working on my specific type of HVAC system or brand? Can you provide references? What is your per-hour pricing? Do you offer maintenance contracts for ongoing savings? Do you provide a warranty for your work?

Yes, you should turn off your AC if it’s leaking. Turning off the system prevents more condensation from leaking and reduces strain on the unit if a damaged internal component or lack of refrigerant is the cause. While this may temporarily stop the leak, water can continue to drip from a thawing coil even after the system is off. As soon as you notice a leak, turn off the unit and investigate the source or call a professional for an inspection.
