"Excellent! They squeezed us in and did an amazing job. Our carpets looked brand new. We will definitely be using them again for our slate floors to clean & seal. Already have recommended them to other family members and friends. Thank you so much. Debi Weisz"

"Ken at American Tile and Cleaning is amazing! I called him to clean a few stubbon grout lines and he left the tile and grout lines in my entire master shower tub and floor looking brand new! He is meticulous and he cleaned extras such as my bathroom window sill, shower pan and closet track. He has excellent customer service, communication and reasonable prices. I plan to have him back to clean my guest bathroom tile."

Small jobs welcome

"Manny was friendly and professional throughout. He did a great job cleaning, repairing and color-sealing our nearly 30-year-old tile floor and counters in the kitchen. He worked quickly and quietly. There were no noxious fumes, dust or noise. That approach to the job was much different than I hand in mind when i was considering a DYI approach. I had three other grout service people come in and look at the job. One only does cleaning. The others only do grout repair. Manny does it all."

Floor Cleaning and Waxing questions, answered by experts

A floor polisher won’t remove scratches from a wood floor, but the polish can fill in surface scratches and make them all but invisible. If you run your fingernail gently over the scratch and it doesn’t catch, chances are that the polish will hide it. If it does catch, you might want to have your floors fully refinished, and you might need to have a professional floor sander in for particularly deep scratches. When in doubt, call a professional floor polisher to determine if polish will fill in your scratches or if you need more in-depth services.

You can use dish soap mixed with warm water to clean just about any type of flooring, and while vinegar is a great addition to some floor cleaners, it’s not a good idea to use it on wood flooring or engineered wood flooring. Vinegar is very acidic, and it can gradually eat away at the protective finish on wood floors. If you’re cleaning laminate, tile, concrete, or vinyl floors, feel free to use vinegar and water in a 1-to-1 ratio with a few drops of dish soap. For wood floors, substitute the vinegar for olive oil.

You can embrace minimalism when it comes to cleaning vinyl plank flooring. Water or diluted vinegar both work great for mopping and are much better options than some other cleaners that can damage the protective coating on these floors. Ammonia or solvent-based polishes can both break down the top layer. Also, avoid “mop-and-shine” cleaners, which tend to leave behind residue on vinyl plank floors.

Dust mops are the best option for tackling dirt and dust on marble floors. Vacuums aren’t a good idea as the brushes and beater rolls can scratch and damage your marble floors. If you must use a vacuum, make sure your vacuum has a setting for hard floors, and take care not to apply too much pressure when rolling the vacuum across your marble floor.

The best way to clean vinyl floors is to vacuum or sweep away debris and then mop the floors using a mixture of warm water and dish soap or vinegar. You can also use store-bought cleaners if they’re marked safe for vinyl surfaces.
