"I hired this company to renovate a garage that was converted into a family room approx 60 years ago by my parents. The space included a shower, toilet, in small area. After inheriting the house, I hired this company to update the bathroom, which was the original construction 1955, only a cement finish. Additionally, he transformed the family room into a bedroom for myself and added a sink vanity and mirror, installed new doors, and laid tile in the vanity area, bthrm, & shower stall. Before & after pictures will be posted, noting that the before pictures depict the space when it was rented by someone else. Company owner Raul, demonstrated exceptional expertise and provided valuable feedback throughout the project. His crew was outstanding, I am thoroughly satisfied with the results, considering myself fortunate to have found such a skilled contractor. Thank you very much Twin Home Solutions Inc. I'll have you back for more updates later. Very reasonably priced too!"

"Groundwork’s did a great job on our house. Luis G was an amazing Forman with Ken H and Mark P all waterproofed under our house. They worked quickly, efficiently and thoroughly left all areas in tact and clean. Luis communicated very clearly about the all aspects of the job until it was completed."

House Leveling questions, answered by experts

Polyjacking and mudjacking can both be effective solutions for sinking concrete, but they have key differences. Polyjacking, which uses expanding polyurethane foam, is often considered a better option because the foam is significantly lighter than the cementitious material used for mudjacking. This reduced weight puts less pressure on the underlying soil and lowers the risk of future sinking. Polyjacking is suitable for any sinking concrete slab, while mudjacking is typically only recommended for non-structural concrete, such as sidewalks, patios, pool decks, and driveways. The primary drawback of polyjacking is its cost, which can be up to four times higher than mudjacking—as much as $25 per square foot compared to a maximum of about $6 per square foot for mudjacking.

Most states and municipalities don’t require concrete mudjacking companies to carry a specific license, but they usually need to have a general contractor’s license, and they should be fully insured. The only exception is if the mudjacking company provides foundation repairs as well, or if it offers mudjacking for home foundations. In that case, they will typically need a foundation repair contractor’s license. You can check state requirements and then use Angi’s license lookup tool to confirm that a company is properly licensed to provide mudjacking services in your area.

The polyurethane used for polyjacking will expand and cure in 15 to 30 minutes. After that point, your slab will be safe to walk on and even drive on in the case of a sidewalk or concrete driveway. Double-check with your concrete lifting specialist to confirm a curing timeline, as products can differ.

It restores concrete, prevents replacement cost disruptions, reduces trip hazards, and provides stability at a lower cost.

Mudjacking is your best bet for leveling concrete on a tighter budget. It’s less expensive than foam or grout mixture. For smaller, surface-level issues, you could also use a self-leveling compound, which creates an even surface over existing concrete—it’s a budget-friendly option suitable for DIY enthusiasts.
