"Professional, efficient, knowledgeable, trimmed a large sycamore tree in the front yard, cleaned up and left no trace that they were here! The tree is now beautiful, nicely shaped and not resting on the roof of the house any longer. Great service, would definitely hire again !"

"Daniella showed up right away to give an estimate. This is highly commendable, as I was treated to a “no show” to other tree contractors after scheduling. Daniella’s team arrived on schedule and did a beautiful pruning job on my 2 huge evergreens, then completely cleaned up. I am so heartened such a great company is out there. They explained everything, and were just so efficient and courteous."

"Tree Ops LLC had done a outstanding tree trimming at my home this weekend. George and his crew arrived on time as scheduled. They worked together in organized fashion providing tree trimming, backyard & front lawn clean up. While working, the crew paid attention to details and make sure not damage my property. Clean up after was super and efficient. George provided prompt reply to my service request and the labor charge was very reasonable in compare to many quotes I had requested. I am very pleased with the workers and the service of the Tree Ops LLC and would recommend to the community. It is hard nowadays to find reliable and reasonable price service. Thank you George and the crew for a superior service."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

Palm trees aren’t much different than your typical tree removal. Removing a palm tree is a standard procedure as long as pros have the proper tools and supplies. For DIYers, however, there are some risks associated with palm tree removal. Palm trees have spiky fronds, bark, and patches of hefty wood. So, it’s best to let an experienced tree service pro remove a palm tree.

Absolutely. These steps are significantly easier, too, especially when it comes to preserving the root ball and moving the palm tree. However, you will want to make sure the tree has plenty of fertilizer to establish itself and start growing. Supports may also be more important, as it can take extra time for a potted palm to spread out its roots. If you are transferring a palm to another pot, you’ll want to move up a size or two to a larger pot. Make sure the pot has excellent drainage to keep the palm from getting waterlogged.

Palm trees are unique in that their roots don't grow straight down; they grow horizontally. Typically, palm tree roots go down between 12 and 36 inches deep. The roots grow far and wide from the base of the palm tree to absorb as much water and soil nutrients as possible. In addition, the horizontal roots are also very strong—keeping palm trees stable and helping them sway during storms.

A general rule is that trees need 10 gallons of water for each inch of the tree’s diameter. For large trees, that can amount to approximately 160 gallons of water or more. Watering big trees to this extent can take quite a bit of time using a hose. For this reason, you may consider installing a soaker hose or sprinkler system to make the job easier.

The best tools for tree removal include a chainsaw for large trees, an ax for notching and cutting down small trees, and a wedge to help control the direction a tree falls in. A hatchet can be useful for very small trees, but won’t be effective for medium to large trees.
