"They answered my requests quickly and were eager to have my business. There were some communication mishaps. The person was working so quickly that I didn't know when they would be here to do the tint and I had intended on adding more to the order. The tech came and did the job and it looks nice."

"I had previously hired them to do the same for the huge west-facing windows of my home. This time it was for the sunroom skylights. They always do an outstanding professional job at a fair price. They also take the time to answer any questions that I might have & willing to educate the customer as to which films work best & where. I plan to use them again without hesitation & also recommend family & friends. My whole house A/C unit comes on just occasionally now which saves me quite a bit of money. Amazing!"

"I was looking for a professional window tinting company for a a store front window replacement project I was doing for a client and Extreme Window Tinting was highly recommended to me by a fellow contractor. The owner Shawn met with me personally at the site and was highly professional. He explained and demonstrated to us how the window tinting reduces the heat transfer from outside to inside and the different types of tinting they offer . He also let us know about the window shades they install and continued to show us the shades and the color options for that as well. We hired them to do the windows and the window shades. The job was done in one day and we’re able to do it with in the scheduled time frame. His team was very professional and organised. I would highly recommend hiring them for your window tinting and roller shade needs."

Window Tinting questions, answered by experts

While you need heat to peel back window film, the tint will often leave behind adhesive residue. You can use chemicals such as isopropyl alcohol or acetone to remove the residue, though hardware stores sell specialized solutions for this purpose as well. You can also use soapy water in a pinch!

Yes, most professional-grade window films include warranties covering fading, peeling, and bubbling.

Solar screens reduce glare and block UV rays, which may slightly dim natural light and alter the view from inside. However, most homeowners find the trade-off worthwhile for improved comfort and energy savings. The impact depends on the screen’s color and density, with darker screens blocking more light but providing enhanced glare reduction and privacy.

A lace curtain may block some of the biggest insects from entering while still allowing a breeze to get through. If your concern is privacy, then curtains and blinds will provide better privacy than window screens; for UV protection, you can choose specialty windows or UV-blocking film. And if you just want an inexpensive, temporary solution, there are adhesive or magnetic screen panels you can install for an hour, a day, or a season.

Energy-efficient windows are judged on their performance according to a few different factors, including heat transfer, air leakage, light transference, and condensation resistance. If you're unsure whether a window is energy-efficient, look for an ENERGY STAR® label from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). If various products, including windows, meet energy-efficiency standards set by the federal government, the EPA issues this label to help consumers identify energy-efficient products.
