"I hired Prestige Plastering to repair the cracked, missing and other damaged parts of the stucco on my 70 year old home. Then they re-stuccoed the entire outside of the house and the final coats of stucco had my custom color added so there will be no painting involved. Edgar's team did quick work and a beautiful job."

"Tom Davila came through when we needed it. Super communicative, prompt, fairly priced and did the job well. Quality cuts on the drywall- we’re already connecting with him to do more odd-jobs around our place. Good find for Fresno!"

"Milne's Painting has painted the exterior of my home and did such a great job so when I needed my bedrooms painted I knew who to call. Recently, I needed my bathroom vanity and all the bathroom walls painted and again they did an amazing job! If I need any painting done, I always call Todd at Milne's Painting because anyone he sends out has done such a great job at an affordable price."

"Finally an honest Solar company!! I went through several companies trying to get quotes for one of my properties, either they were ridiculously expensive or they didn't return my calls. A friend of mine referred me to Mega Sun and I have to say I am very pleased. Within a couple days from the initial phone call I already had an estimate and once i decided to go with them the installation was completed in one week. Its been a little over a month since they completed the install and everything is working smoothly.

I was amazed at just how great the customer service was. I just want to say thank you to the whole team who helped out, I really appreciate all your hard work. Now I know you guys are the ones to call for all future jobs."

"Got an education in painting advancements on how to cool and save energy with paint alone on the exterior of a house. Most interesting and ideal for stable businesses looking for long term solutions. However, for a rental house, their price does not meet my immediate needs. Salespersons were great."

Stucco questions, answered by experts

Masonry screws are the best option to be used on stucco. They’re thicker and made to penetrate harder surfaces like concrete and cinder blocks. Fluted masonry screws work the best because they create a stronger grasp thanks to the lines on their shafts. If you’re working on exterior stucco, use galvanized screws to prevent corrosion.

When cleaning stucco siding, it is recommended to use a pressure washer with a psi (pounds per square inch) between 1,500 and 2,000. This range provides sufficient power to remove dirt and grime without causing damage to the stucco surface. It's important to avoid using excessive psi as it can chip or crack the stucco.

Using a wider spray nozzle and keeping a safe distance of about seven to 10 feet from the siding helps ensure a gentle and effective cleaning process. Always follow the manufacturer's guidelines and adjust the psi accordingly based on the condition of your stucco and the specific requirements of your pressure washer.

You should aim to let stucco dry for at least 48 hours before it rains. While misting new stucco and keeping it moderately moist is important for strength and longevity, uncontrolled exposure to rain can lead to weak stucco that doesn’t bond properly. Rain can also affect the stucco finish and the color unevenly, leaving you with less appealing siding.

Homeowners insurance may cover the cost of siding repair or replacement, but coverage depends on the cause of the damage. Most policies will cover damage from a covered event, such as a storm, wind, hail, fire, natural disaster, or other impact damage. Your policy might pay for the full or partial cost of the repair or replacement. However, damage resulting from age, general wear and tear, or neglect is typically not covered, and you should expect to pay for those repairs out of pocket. It is best to review your specific homeowners insurance policy for full details on what is covered, how to file a claim, and what documentation is required.

Solid, unpainted stucco shouldn’t suffer damage from dots of glue used for this task. If the stucco is dirty, you may notice slight marks when you heat and peel the glue away, but these aren’t permanent.

However, not all stucco walls are solid stucco. Some are “faux” stucco with a foam backing. This kind of stucco veneer is more susceptible to damage, including damage from hot glue. We don’t suggest attaching anything to these kinds of stucco walls, so make sure you check the stucco type before starting this project.
