What causes driveways to crack can vary by driveway material. Sealcoating with the right formula creates a protective "shell" over a driveway. Resealing a driveway on schedule helps to preserve its lifespan substantially by keeping it protected against damage from UV rays, motor oil, chemicals, hail, rain, snow, and more. If you don't reseal your driveway, this will lead to brittleness, cracking, and potholes that can eventually cause your driveway to fall apart.

If you don’t want to seal the entire driveway using a squeegee, you can use a roller instead. We don’t recommend spraying the driveway sealer because it would cause more splash, hence wasting more material. If anything, you may spray the sealant and go over the surface again with a squeegee to ensure proper coating.

If the instructions on the label tell you to wait 24 hours, you should wait for the full amount of time before continuing on with the rest of your project (or showing and bathing if you caulked in your bathroom). If you don’t give caulk time to fully dry, it may not cure or adhere correctly. In that case, you’ll be replacing that new caulk a lot sooner than you want to.
