"Jose’s Painting Co. crew was on-time, all the time and did a great job! Truly professional and do impeccable prep-work. They are detail oriented and clean-up after they finish each day. Their prices are fair and their work is solid. Good attitude and customer service! Jose came out to give an estimate and we had one by the end of the day. Would definitely use them again! Happy customers! Thank you, Jose and Jose!"

"It went exceptionally well! We discussed a price, within minutes the house was pressure cleaned, then a day later his crew showed up, made the necessary trim and stucco repairs, they removed the chipping paint and painted the trim and two story house in one day. The paint is thick and rich, the trim gleams. James White and his team did an excellent job. Neighbors liked it so much, four neighbors had him do their homes. The neighborhood looks great! James White and his team are good!"

"We hired Denis of Mr. Doctor Painting to paint the entire interior of our condo. We had the best experience with Denis and his son who assisted him. They were very professional, talented and extremely neat. The took 3 days and they arrived on time each day and had it completed as promised. I have had many vendors in my life and I would rate Denis and Mr. Doctor Painting among the very best . The quality is wonderful and both Denis and his son are great guys. Highly Recommend this company for any of your painting needs. Fred"

"Our front door needed a refresh, and Rivera’s team did an outstanding job sanding, staining, and sealing it. The result is stunning — the door now looks brand new and has significantly enhanced the curb appeal of our home. Most importantly, I was unwell and couldn’t be there during the work since it’s our second home, but I had complete confidence in the team. They delivered flawlessly, even in my absence. Highly recommend!"

Small jobs welcome

"Iâ ve had many projects painted by different contractors over the last 5 years and havenâ t ever felt the need to leave reviews. However, Osborne Painting just finished up an interior job with multiple custom colors and did an exceptional job and Iâ d give the team more than 5 stars if I could. All furniture was moved covered and replaced as if they were never there. Definitely my go from now on. Great Job guys!"

"Painted very well. Fixed a couple of very small defects found at the end of job inspection - right away, without any issues. A few months later, still no concerns about the paint job."

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

Apply a wood stain or sealant to properly maintain a wood deck railing and keep it looking new. Sealants protect wood from moisture and weathering. Regularly inspect the railing for loose screws, damaged balusters, and other signs of wear to make timely repairs. Routinely clean the railing using mild soap, water, and a soft bristle brush.

Ultimately, overapplication of stain can compromise the deck's appearance, durability, and longevity. It may result in an uneven finish, with excess stain pooling, dripping, or drying into thick patches. It can also obscure the wood's natural grain and texture, detracting from the desired aesthetic. Moreover, excessive staining may not fully penetrate the wood, leading to poor adhesion and premature wear. Additionally, thick layers of stain are prone to peeling, cracking, and blistering as they struggle to bond with the surface.

Aftercare includes routine cleaning, checking for water repellency, and promptly addressing any chips or peels, maintaining the deck's appearance and functionality.

Whether to paint or stain a deck depends on your personal preference for appearance and budget. Stain provides a natural look with a range of undertones, is typically less expensive, and may only require one coat, but it does not last as long as paint. Paint offers a sleeker finish with a virtually unlimited color palette. Both options will protect your deck from outdoor elements like rain, snow, and general wear and tear.

Eggshell and satin finishes are best for porches because they sit in the sweet spot between scuffable matte and distracting high gloss. Your porch sees a fair amount of wear and tear, so you don’t want paint that’ll show every mark like matte, but you don’t want to be blinded by glossy paint in the sun either. Eggshell and satin have durability and a look that sits nicely in the middle.
