"John Hanen refinished 600 Sq Ft of my momâ s 63 year old oak hardwood floors using a three coat finish and they turned out beautiful! We didnâ t know what to expect when the carpets were removed, We discovered a few problem areas and John worked his magic and removed stains and filled in spaces with transitional pieces in front of the fireplace hearth and bathroom door. He was professional, showed up on time, answered all our questions, was hardworking, detail oriented and he went the extra mile. We highly recommend John from Against the Grain Flooring. "Ruben and his team are very professional and personable. Ruben gave us a very competitive rate on our project consisting of removing hardwood flooring and carpet and LVP installation of approximately 900 sq ft. They sealed off rooms prior to removing the hardwood flooring and that definately kept the dust confined. Ruben, Mike and Armando did an Outstanding Job and we were comfortable with them and asking questions about the project. I highly recommend Ruben and his team for professional, honesty and nice to chat with. thank you, Pat O'Connor"
"We needed to replace our old flooring. BFA Flooring Company responded quickly and in a timely manner to our request. In addition to the high-quality installation of floor coverings, we had a professional preparation of the floor coated with a waterproof layer so that there would be no moisture and mold in the future. Repair, preparation and installation were done very quickly, with high quality, for which we are very grateful to these guys and can recommend them to other home owners"
"Did a great job, floors came out great. Were very accommodating when we had to reschedule several times. My only quibble was that at the very end there were a lot of handprints on doorknobs, etc. Would recommend them though"
"Excellent service from start to finish. He ground my demo floor thoroughly in preparation for the install, kept me updated throughout, and was courteous and punctual. The workmanship was top-notch and the site was left clean. Highly recommend for anyone needing floor prep or installation work. I don’t have a photo because drywallers have the floor covered up currently, but it’s basically perfectly ground and ready. Hire Nik if you want the job done right the first time and for a fair price."
"The installers did an excellent job, they really worked to hard , started in the morning and didnâ t stop until they finished. They didnâ t stop for lunch and thank goodness I had water and protein drinks . And the floor looks beautiful."
"5 stars for Kavanaugh Flooring and Will.
I don’t typically write reviews but these folks went above and beyond.
Baseboards thru out the home, 1500 sq feet of LVP.
On time, impeccable clean up, price was very reasonable, and job quality was excellent.
I’d highly recommend them!"
"It’s been 8 years since Andrey and his men installed 12mm laminate flooring for us. We had carpet removed in 7 rooms and 2 hallways and new beautiful flooring placed all within 3 days. The floors still look spectacular and with some wear and in the high traffic areas some of the transition strips needed attention. I contacted Andrey and he sent Travis over to resolve our minor problems with the week. Absolutely brilliant job with such a quick response. I would definitely recommend Capitol Cabinets and Flooring for a professional, courteous and quality job."
The toilet flange anchors to the subfloor, usually with wood screws or cement screws, but most of it should sit above floor level at full height. When a flange is flush with the subfloor or below it, it can lead to the creation of leak paths.
When you install laminate flooring, you have to install spacers (also called expansion gaps) along the edges. This space along the edges gives the flooring the room it needs to naturally expand and contract. When you don't have an expansion gap, you can end up with damaged or warped planks. This can lead to uneven flooring, which is unsightly and can cause a trip hazard.
No, thick carpet padding isn’t necessarily better than thinner padding. The appropriate padding thickness will depend on the type of carpet and the amount of foot traffic in the area.
For example, thick padding works well in low-traffic areas, like bedrooms, where you have soft and plush carpeting. However, thick carpet padding can damage low-pile carpet, which is used in the busiest parts of your home (like hallways and entryways). For that reason, it’s best to use thinner, heavier padding underneath carpet in high-traffic areas.
As with timing, the cost to remove tile flooring varies depending on a number of factors, including size and type, adhesive type, condition of the tile and adhesive, and the method used to remove it. If you’re doing it yourself, you can expect the job to cost only the price of any tools, materials, or equipment that you don’t already have. If you’re hiring a professional, expect to pay between $2 and $7 per square foot for labor costs, along with added fees for materials.
If your floor is still sticky after mopping, chances are you used too much or too little of the cleaning solution. Using too little won’t get all of the grime off, but using too much can leave its own residue. Refer to the cleaning solution’s instructions and dilute it as directed.
