"Edgar showed up on time for the estimate. He is very professional and courteous. The two of them showed up on time and installed the gutters. Removed and replace the old ones with brand new ones and they came out beautiful. Absolutely a beautiful job well done. I look forward to doing more business with them."

"Jose and Israel did a magnificient job. They immediately analyzed the problem and went to work within minutes to repair outdoor stairway and clean up our yard of debris. They obtained the necessary supplies the same day and worked tirelessly without interruption until dark to complete the task. The job was perfectly done as they srove to satisfy my every need. This is a very talented and delightful team. I strongly recommend their services."

"I had a very good experience with James and Owens Rain Gutters. I feel I got a really good product at a fair price and James was a real pleasure to work with. He did a thorough inspection prior to making his bid, advised me that there were existing gutters I did not need to replace but that he could match with the new gutters, and satisfactorily answered all my questions. They even added about 150 feet of gutter guard that I supplied for just a very small fee, and I know it took them several extra hours of work. When I did my final inspection, I had a couple of small changes I wanted to make (even though James did exactly what I asked for initially), and he took care of it without question. The only thing that prevents me from giving him a 5-star rating was a scheduling issue that caused a ripple effect with my painting contractor. That said, I would hire him again and recommend his company for your gutter work."

"I purchased a 4-hr handyman deal through Angie's List for That Contractor Guy. I scheduled a day and time to have a someone come out and complete a 3 item work list. One person arrived and I provided him with the three items. He took care of the first two items within an hour and a half, but was unable to complete the third item(shelf install). Because the first two items took less than 2 hrs to complete, once Muno(owner) arrived he had assured me that he would come back out and handle another small job (replace an exterior light) to essentially cover the original purchase once I purchased the material. During the initial visit, I had also made him aware that I was looking to work with a contractor for some larger jobs(built-ins, update a fireplace and replace some trim). However, after contacting Muno twice to complete the original job, he never responded. Although he and his employee did good work and were obviously competent, the lack of professionalism prohibited me from using or referring That Contractor Guy to anyone else. Since he did not keep his original word to complete such a small job there is no way I could trust him for a larger job. End result is that I found another contractor to perform the 15k in improvements that I had planned to use That Contractor Guy to complete. I only purchased the 4hr deal to help me locate a trustworthy contractor to employ. Unfortunately, this was not a good match for me.

Gutter Repair and Replacement questions, answered by experts

On average, gutters need to be replaced every 20 years. Unprotected gutters in more extreme weather conditions are more prone to breaking and may need to be replaced sooner. Meanwhile, proper maintenance can extend your gutter’s life span even further. That said, proper installation, gutter hangers to provide additional support, and gutter guards or helmets all play an important role in how long your gutters last.

Poor gutter drainage can cause sagging gutters, roof damage, mold, mildew, rot, basement flooding, and foundation cracks. With gutter replacement costs possible for just $500, getting the right system can save you thousands in repairs down the road.

If you don't repair your home’s gutter leaks, water or the gutters themselves can damage your home’s siding, roofing, foundation, and landscaping. Untreated leaks encourage mildew, mold, and rot, depending on the type of siding material. The foundation, chimney, window frames, and drywall can also crack over time, leading to costly repairs.

Unless you've chosen to install underground downspouts, your gutter downspouts shouldn't touch the ground. If they come into contact with the soil or pavement next to your home, rainwater can back up into them during a storm, preventing them from doing their job effectively. Instead, aim to have your downspouts end about 12 inches from the ground.

Sagging gutters stress your downspout, so have your gutters fixed before you secure your downspout.
