"Drew from Legacy Plumbing came out IMMEDIATELY to our rescue because not only were all toilets and showers unusable because water would flood downstairs but we had a birthday get-together with family happening within the hour. Drew was very knowledgeable and quickly fixed our clog and we needed a replacement part for an obvious leak. Legacy Plumbing is super honest, and you don't feel like you're getting ripped off with unnecessary b.s.. This is the second time we've called and because of the great job he did on our last major issue with our old pipes, we called him again. The cleanliness, effeciency, and honesty of this company is why I felt compelled to rave about them and let people know in a review. Definitely my plumber and business to recommend from here on out."

"Overall, it went excellent. First and mainly, after over 4 months, we are simply delighted with having this liner in the crawlspace. Allergies that were bugging me for the past 7 or so years are gone. Can't say it will affect others that way, but for me, it did -- granted, we had done a lot of research and also cleaned up down there thoroughly prior to finally installing this liner. The liner was the final touch, the part that we did to help maintain the cleanliness.
John, the person who comes to give the estimate, won me over completely; he's just very honest and sincere. And that was the final point that made me decide to go with Clean Crawlspace and not another company that had come to give an estimate. I'd read that Clean Crawlspace prices are more sometimes, but for us it was only some $150 more, but that was worth it to me for other value I felt we would be getting.
David, the owner, is simply wonderful to work with too--so nice and accommodating. I had many questions before we started and he responded quickly and thoroughly to my inquires.
The job took 4 full days. We had some tricky places to seal in, where our cinder block base around the perimeter was missing and the foreman was not sure of the best way to proceed on those (though he had ideas), so he erred on the side of caution, until he was able to get David's advice. There was a little miscommunication between us and foreman in that regard, but David cleared it up immediately via phone, and bent over backwards to be sure we were also satisfied. They did everything and went beyond the call of duty to be sure we were comfortable and satisfied.
John came out and checked everything, too. He also offered to come out during the rainy season to check the tricky areas. They are confident it will be fine, but he offered to do this to give me peace of mind. (That visit hasn't happened yet, since there's not yet been rain.)
I'm just very pleased with the product and the customer service, which is excellent. They are like your friends.
...One note to be aware of: after putting in the lining, after about 3 months, we noticed that the oak floor (original from 1948, with the nail holes in full view and everything) must have dried up some as there are now cracks between the wall and the oak floor that were not there before. It is not everywhere and in the widest area it is only 5mm. Our general contractor was here the other day, and he agrees with us that it must be from the planks drying out, from the reduction of humidity in the crawlspace. I don't know if that would happen with newer floors, but it is something to be aware of. Anyway, we have no problem with this, and plan to simply apply some oak-colored caulking, because the reduction in the humidity and the disappearance of those irritating allergy symptoms has been WELL worth this little inconvenience.
We haven't yet used the crawlspace as a storage area, but it is definitely possible with the lining there. Needless to say, service workers who've had to go under there are thrilled with the liner (we had to have a plumber check something, and also a pest control check something). My husband is hoping that he won't have to go under there anymore, anyway, with all the clean up and the final point of this liner keeping it all clean, and so far, so good.

"We had to call twice for 2 separate issues and Eduardo was quick to help both times. He was able to fix our issue on same day or within a couple of days. Our sink repair also looks much cleaner than whoever repaired recently!"

FAQs for drain pipe installation projects in Carmel, CA

The regulations around whether drain pipe installers need to hold licenses or certifications differ based on where you live and the type of drain pipe installed. Municipalities have varying rules and regulations about who can and can’t perform plumbing work. However, we recommend hiring a certified plumber to install or modify your drain lines. Licensed plumbers will perform a high-quality, professional installation, which translates to a lower risk of clogs and leaks in the future. Use Angi’s state licensing tool to confirm the license status of your potential plumber before hiring them to install your drain pipe.

The cost to install a drain pipe is $600 on average, but the total can range between $150 and $2,000. Some cost factors that influence your project price include the type of drain, the area’s accessibility, the proximity of existing drain lines, and whether you’re installing a new drain or replacing an old one. Replacing the p-trap or s-trap under a single fixture will usually cost around $150, while replacing a main drain pipe can cost well over $2,000.

Plumbers will typically take one to two hours to install a new drain pipe, but that timeline can vary based on the area’s accessibility, the drain length, and the type of drain line. Replacing an easily accessible p-trap under a sink could take as little as a half an hour, while replacing a larger section of drain line behind the wall could take as long as three to four hours. When hiring a plumber for your specific installation, ask them to provide an estimated timeline to get a more accurate assessment.

You might need a permit to modify or repair any portion of your plumbing system, including drainage lines, depending on where you live. In some areas, simple replacements of existing drain lines don’t require a permit. We recommend asking your drain pipe installer or your local building department about permitting requirements. In many cases, only certified plumbers can pull plumbing permits, so you’ll usually need to leave the permit application to your professional. The fee for the permit will be passed to you on your project bill, though.

We highly recommend leaving the work of replacing drain pipes to a professional plumber. Drain pipes are a key part of your plumbing system, and making mistakes during the installation or even using the wrong size pipes for your specific fixture can lead to an elevated risk of leaks and clogs. Additionally, drain pipes prevent harmful sewer gas from entering your home, so hiring a professional plumber is essential to keeping the risk of leaks and clogs low and avoid reducing your indoor air quality.
