Customers say: True professional

"Peter is a very knowledgeable and patient guy - he helped us understand our energy usage and even showed us how to read the usage of individual appliances used in our home. He also provided a full report on potential issues with specific windows, and had really good information about planning for future HVAC improvements. We feel so much better about our future home improvement projects after our home energy audit with Posert Energy!"

"Attic masters did a good job at my house by cleaning the ducts. I spoke to them prior and they were nice to me. they gave me several options and explain to me the difference between each one and they recommended me which one to choose. The work that they did was good and the people that did the actual work were very nice. I will hire them again.

"The entire process went smoothly. Begin with a system quote from Paul Sherer with a design layout, followed by a feasibility study of the roof and where the panels are to be installed. I have a metal tile roof and the previous solar vendor actually rejected the project. Slingshot first installed the 240v outlet and that took 2 people a whole day to complete, as my electric panel is at the other side of the house from the garage. The panel installation took another 2 days that included the interconnect, upgrading the breakers on the panel. The staff was professional, courteous and focus on doing the job right. Then the city inspection and followed by submitting the application to PG&E. The approval took only 3 days which was a pleasant surprise. Slingshot came out to install a CDD so I can monitor the performance and output of all 13 panels. Not only the project completely very smoothly and on time, the final price I paid is exactly what was quoted from day 1. Now that my electric car is here, I think I can recover the cost within 2 years."

"The cleaning job went very well. It was a job of many surprises( pokaman chips, matchbox size cars,of course legos etc. etc.etc.)! We moved to the house in 88,remodeled a few years later and then never cleaned them. The cleaning was a great check and all is well. In fact they stated that they weren't bad (considering). I was very happy they are in good condition.........................................."

"After a brief period of essential hammering in the attic and testing for air leakage, the work was done silently. The very pleasant installation crew was unobtrusive and efficient. I was amazed the "blowing in" process could be so quiet and clean. Not a drop of insulation escaped the attic."

Energy Efficiency Auditing questions, answered by experts

Heat pumps transfer existing heat instead of generating it, using less energy. Compared to baseboard heaters, they can reduce heating costs by up to 50% and provide efficient cooling, lowering electricity bills and carbon footprint.

The difference between an energy auditor and a home inspector is primarily in the purpose of the inspection. The energy auditor conducts tests in your home to determine the energy efficiency levels in areas like windows, insulation, and doorways. The auditor then makes recommendations for ways to improve a home’s energy efficiency

A home inspector examines various structures of your home to determine that everything is up to code and gauge the condition of features like the roof, foundation, HVAC, and electrical. The home inspector reports on the overall home and makes repair recommendations.

If you want a new boiler that’s going to help lower your fuel bills, you should buy one that has a high energy-efficiency rating. For example, a boiler that is rated “A” uses at least 90% of the energy created by the boiler. And in order to enjoy the best performance, it’s important to have it installed properly by a highly-rated tech.

The number one culprit of high energy bills is older appliances, especially fridges and freezers that are left on all the time. These two appliances tend to last a long time, which is good, but it also means that newer models are usually significantly more energy-efficient due to upgraded technology. The second most common reason for a high bill is heating and air conditioning.

A small sump pump running infrequently uses an average of 10 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity per month. The average cost for electricity is $0.171 per kWh. The size and use frequency affect how much electricity it uses. Sump pumps average one-third to one horsepower (hp) motors. One hp is equal to 745.7 watts. Watts multiplied by the time your pump is running divided by 1,000 equals your average kWh. Multiply kWh by your average cost of electricity. In areas with high rain or a marsh basin, the average cost can be as high as $15-$25 a month.
