Chimney or Fireplace - Clean and Inspect

Serving Big Sur, CA and surrounding areas

In business since 1983

"We actually completed this project last year but forgot to put the review here. They came to our house on time and did a great job to clean our chimney. They also inspected our chimney and suggest to do the mortar work because there is a fire hazard in our chimney and suggest us that mortar re-work was the best way to avoid that fire hazard. We're planing to do that work sometime this year before the winter season because we didn't use our fireplace last winter. Overall, they are honest and great team to communicate with."

Costs range from $1,000 to $10,000, depending on the extent of the damage and affected areas.

Yes, mineral spirits are flammable and may spontaneously combust at temperatures of 200 degrees F or more. Storing them in well-ventilated spaces and disposing of them the proper way are the best ways to prevent mineral spirits or anything contaminated with them, like towels and rags, from going up in smoke.

DIY restoration for small areas is possible with proper safety gear and equipment, though comprehensive damage benefits from professional restoration.

Yes, a seller is legally required to disclose any known fire damage when selling a house, including damages that were repaired. That includes damages to structural components and all major systems, as well as water damage, chemical damage, and smoke damage related to the fire. Sellers use a property disclosure statement, which is regulated by each state individually, to disclose fire damage.

If untreated, smoke damage is definitely toxic. Carbon and tar are two types of toxic chemicals in smoke that can damage your lungs and other parts of your body if you breathe them in for long periods of time. If you still smell smoke after the fire, it’s important that you call your restoration team for support.
