"We have now hired Josue for a couple of different jobs. One was to repair our sunroom (general repair, re-roofing, painting interior and exterior), another was to build a fence and railing that matched what was already in place for our stairs. In both cases the work was excellent. Our sunroom, which had been leaking badly, has held up great in the recent big rains, and looks wonderful—and the new railing/fence blends in perfectly with what was already there. What really distinguishes Josue is his responsiveness, professionalism, and communication. He is wonderful to work with, and never made us feel (as some other contractors have) that our jobs were too “small” or that we weren’t big enough clients for him. He treated us with respect and consideration, was on time, and always communicated if there was any change. He also has a terrific crew—hardworking, kind, and thoughtful. We will definitely hire him again."

"I could not recommend Ben Oded and his team more. I've now worked with Ben on multiple projects, including a new bathroom, renovations of existing bathrooms, electrical, plumbing, and most recently, an ADU, and on every occasion, Ben and his team have delivered. Ben is honest, reliable, and direct. When he says he is going to do something, I never have to worry about it getting done. He'll also be very honest with you about what's possible and at what price. There are also numerous examples of Ben going above and beyond. One such example was around my wedding. The week before the wedding, we lost all hot water...We had multiple plumbers over, but no one could find the solve. Two days before the wedding, we were scrambling. I called Ben, and within an hour, we had a plumber over, who fixed the issue and at a fraction of the cost. I could not recommend Ben more. Call him for your home or investment property renovation needs..you won't regret it!"

"Found Sentri on Angi. Jeanette and Violet were very pleasant and efficient in getting a contractor to me in the time frame needed. The contractor was excellent and the roof looks great! I would definitely work with them again if I had additional projects."

Carpentry questions, answered by experts

A-frame homes are on the smaller side. While there’s no set square footage amount it has to be, it will usually come in around 1,000 square feet or smaller.

Most load-bearing walls are exterior, though they can also be interior.

When deciding whether to use nails or screws for framing, the specific needs of the project must be taken into account. Nails have long been the go-to option for framing due to their affordability, ease of installation, and ability to withstand shear forces. They are perfect for structural framing projects where fast assembly is essential. In contrast, screws offer exceptional holding power and are particularly useful in situations requiring increased strength and resistance to pull-out forces. For projects that prioritize accuracy and long-lasting quality, screws may be the preferred option, though nails remain a dependable and efficient choice.

No rules state how much of a load-bearing wall can be removed. Rather, you need to adequately support any area that is removed. Support should always be added to as much wall area is being removed. Failing to support the area properly will result in structural damage.

Installing a tongue-and-groove wall requires similar techniques to those associated with installing shiplap. However, because of the precision necessary to make each board fit perfectly and the increased material prices, the cost is higher than that of shiplap installations. Expect to spend between $2 and $6 more per square foot for tongue-and-groove walls versus shiplap ones.
