"An important factor for me is to be able to call a contractor and the person responsible for planning and overseeing the job answers immediately or calls back promptly if with a client.  So the same day I get Patrick to come out and give me an estimate.  Everything went smoothly, it was only the light rain that caused some delays for certain parts of the job.  It's great having a remote controlled gate for my driveway and a manual gate for the auxiliary side.  The manual gate opens and closes with easy.  I like doing most things myself but with the crazy curves and slope of where these sliding gates where to be installed definitely required an expert who knows how to make custom gates.   "

"Would recommend to anybody, was happy with the job they did, the professionalism how they work and clean up after themselves. I was extremely impressed on them replacing an electrical breaker that they accidentally damaged, but paid for when they replaced. Very happy with the work installing our new chain link electric gate."

Gate Repair questions, answered by experts

The most common cause of gate sensors not working is damaged wiring. Only a professional should diagnose this because it requires working with the system's electronics. There are safety concerns, but more than that, you don't want to accidentally short out your system or cause any electrical damage. Insects, rodents, and fallen branches are common reasons your wiring could become damaged.

Thieves can open almost anything with enough time and the right tools, but they also prefer easy targets that are unlikely to get them caught. Forcing open gates is loud and difficult, and to be able to open one electronically requires extensive knowledge of the system, which most thieves don't have. Electric and other security gates are great deterrents because the thief will move to an easier target. If the thief is determined to enter your property, they will most likely find a different entrance point.

Yes, clean regularly, lubricate hinges or tracks, and inspect for damage to ensure smooth operation.

While entryways are seldom added to a house to increase the sale price, they are commonly constructed to increase the livability and enjoyment of a home. So, while they aren’t necessary, they do make for a more comfortable and luxurious-feeling home. Entryways are most valuable in areas of extreme heat, cold, or rain, as the space between the living area and the outdoors helps keep the outdoors outside. Plus, snow, wet boots, and mud are all corralled into one space that’s easy to clean.

Yes, most electric and automatic gates can be opened manually. They are equipped with a manual override or release mechanism that detaches the motor from the gate, allowing it to be moved by hand. This feature is essential during power outages or other emergencies.

To activate the manual override, you will typically need a specific key or tool. In some cases, you may also need a screwdriver to remove a cover to access the release mechanism. The use of a key is a common security measure to prevent unauthorized individuals from manually opening the gate.

Because every model is different, it is highly recommended to consult your gate's user manual to familiarize yourself with the specific procedure before you need to use it. Keep any necessary keys or tools in an accessible location. Be aware that automatic gates can be very heavy, so opening and closing them manually may be difficult.

In North America, electric gates are also subject to the UL 325 Standard for Safety, which includes provisions to allow emergency responders to access the property.
