"Juan and crew did an excellent job completing an interior paint job and got it done efficiently and in a timely manner. We had received three estimates. One company never got back to me after we had to revise the estimate due to unforeseen circumstances. The other painting contractor did not offer the service of removing "popcorn" texturing. Juan responded with a new estimate right away and was able to remove the popcorn texturing on the living room ceiling, which also had a crack. He repaired the crack, retextured and painted the ceiling as well as a repaint of some interior walls and kitchen cabinets. Reasonably priced too! "

You should use three coats of paint when applying to a heavily textured or porous surface. Sometimes painting a lighter color over a darker color requires three coats of paint or more to achieve full, even coverage. Trim or baseboards should also get three coats of paint.

You should typically be able to paint baseboards without removing them. If you remove baseboards for painting, you risk creating large nail holes or cracks when putting them back in place after the job is complete. If you need to remove the feature, it is possible to remove baseboards, paint them in another location, and reinstall them.

The color of your paint shouldn’t make it harder to apply, but it can be harder to cover in one coat, depending on the surface. The biggest issue with painting your interior walls with exterior paint isn’t the way the paint looks or performs—it’s the lack of ventilation. The higher quantities of VOCs in exterior paint will have a harder time dispersing in an enclosed space, so do everything you can to direct them out—like turning on a fan and opening your windows and doors. Afterward, you can simply prime and redo your walls with interior paint, and no one will know the difference.
