"Awesome gutter, downspout, and gutter guard installation by the company owner, Tirl Maxwell, not a subcontractor. It was considerably less expensive than Leaffilter and the system works great! I had a new roof installed the week before replacement of the gutters. The shingles were supposed to extend 1.5 inches beyond the edge of the roof. However, the workers put the first row of shingles across the entire front of the house exactly up to the edge, without any overhang at all. When Mr. Maxwell removed the old gutters, he pointed the error out to me, called the roofing contractor, and sent him pictures. The roofers came back the same day and added a row of shingles to fix the problem. Mr. Maxwell could have just installed the gutters and not said anything. Clearly he lost time ensuring that the roof was fixed so I wouldn't have problems later on, but It was important to him that all the work be done properly. He went out of his way to do the right thing. I'm very grateful. Date of experience: November 19, 2022"

"Scott went over and above as he repaired pipes in the attic in addition to a superb roofing job. His employees are well trained and completed the job in a day and a half. The clean up was exceptional as you could not tell they had been there. Scott is a man of integrity and I will refer him to everyone who needs a roofer."

Gutter Repair and Replacement questions, answered by experts

Yes, it is okay to knock down icicles yourself. Just make sure to take the proper safety precautions. If you’re not comfortable doing it yourself, contact a roofing professional.

Frequently, when water flows over gutters, it indicates a potential clog, necessitating cleaning. For instance, if a twig becomes lodged in the downspout, it can lead to a traffic jam, causing more leaves and sticks to accumulate. Another potential issue is an incorrect pitch, as gutters should channel water toward the downspout. If you observe water overflowing the end cap or leaking through it, it suggests that your gutters are improperly tilted.

Yes, caulking or sealing your vinyl gutters is a good way to help prevent gutter leaks. When you’re installing gutters, it’s important to overlap the sections to help avoid issues like leaks or drips, but they can still happen. In this case, adding caulk can help. Make sure to use a caulk designed for multiple surfaces, like a silicone-based caulk. You can also purchase a gutter sealant as well, which is specifically designed for this purpose.

Yes, many homeowners find that seamless gutters are worth the investment. Although they have a higher upfront cost than standard gutters—an average of $2,700 compared to $2,000—their benefits often outweigh the price difference. Seamless gutters last longer, require less maintenance, and are less prone to clogs and leaks due to having fewer seams. In contrast, standard gutters typically have seams every 10 feet, which can leak and require new sealant every one to five years. Additionally, seamless gutters are considered more aesthetically pleasing, come in a variety of colors to match your home, and can improve your home's curb appeal and potential value.

The duration of a repair job can range from a few hours to several days. Simpler issues may take 1-4 hours, while more complex work or extensive damage could take 1-3 days. The final timeline depends on the complexity of the problem, the extent of the damage, and the location of the work.
