"I’ve been using Tyce’s Tree Service for over seven years. I highly recommend them not only to trim and remove trees, but also for any of your heavy yard-maintenance needs (plant care is not their strong suit). They are particularly good at tree removal and rock constructions, but they will do any heavy duty yard tasks. During this time I have used them on over 50 projects including: • removing about 20 trees • procuring & delivering 4-6 yards of landscape mulch, soil, fill, gravel, and stone • collecting and mulching 20 yards of leaves each year • repairing and rebuilding leaks, plumbing, and rock settings on my water feature • building two dry-stack stone retaining walls • adding a 40 foot rock garden and a 15 foot decorative berm to the yard • digging about 400 holes for large plants • installing simple drip irrigation • spreading 100 yards of mulch • burring drain pipe • hauling off yard waste • general yard and patio clean-up, maintenance, and repair I am completely pleased with their performance on all these projects. Burning a single palm tree stump, if you’re careful, is technically doable DIY. However, you should always take precautions to control the fire and do research if you’re burning multiple types of trees. 

Some trees, such as ornamental trees, black cherry, and some oak trees, release toxins into the air when burned that can be irritating to your lungs (or even dangerous) to breathe in.

A standard tree removal doesn’t include stump grinding. If you want your contractor to remove your tree and grind the stump, you must pay an extra charge. That said, you’ll likely save on the cost of stand-alone service—especially if it’s a small tree and they can finish both jobs in a single trip.

Bleach can potentially kill some types of delicate ornamental trees, but for the most part, it will only kill the foliage it comes in contact with. Applying bleach is not an effective method of killing a tree. A better option is to use an herbicide, which is a chemical compound designed to effectively kill a tree. 

Grinding is a more efficient way to deal with a tree stump, although it won't remove it entirely. Even if you grind your tree stump down, the root system will still remain in place, though that will likely eventually rot. Grinding a stump will also produce chips that you can use as mulch or to cover up the hole that the process leaves behind.

It is possible to plant a tree over a ground stump if it was ground very deeply. However, it is typically best to plant elsewhere so your new tree has room to establish a strong, healthy root system. If you want to plant a tree in the same spot where you currently have a stump, you may want to consider other options, such as stump removal.
