"The move was professionally done. Members of the moving team were pleasant and informative. They carefully assessed the best way to get the piano in my house. Unfortunately, an accident occurred when moving the piano out of the seller's house, leaving some gashes in the wood along the front of the piano. I was not there and the seller did not see what happened, so have no idea why the damage occurred. The company was most gracious in giving me a reduced moving fee for the damage. This should help in covering costs to try to hide the wood damage."

If the dishwasher is in working condition, start and run a complete cycle with nothing inside. Let it drain and sit overnight before removing the hoses. In theory, it should effectively drain. You may find residual water in the hoses, but you can plug them. If the dishwasher breaks down midcycle it can sometimes be full of water. You’ll need to manually remove the water with a plastic cup before removing the dishwasher.

The best way to transport plants when moving is to prep them properly, cover the soil, pack them tightly in boxes, and take extra precautions depending on state plant regulations, weather, and distance. Your furnace rests at the center of one of the most complicated infrastructures in your home. Air intakes, ducts, water, electricity, and sometimes gas connect up to the system. Most of these lines were run to this point specifically to service the furnace, so they’ll need to be closed up and new ones established.  A furnace is almost always connected to the air conditioner, so you’ll probably be moving those components as well.

Moving a furnace a few feet is probably no big deal. Moving it into a different part of the house is a different story.

To pack mugs securely for a move, start by lining the bottom of a moving box with padded packing material like bubble wrap. Wrap each mug individually, tucking the ends of the bubble wrap inside the mug for a snug fit. For extra protection, consider using a moving box with built-in slots to keep the mugs separated.

When placing the mugs in the box, pack them tightly enough to prevent them from shifting, but not so tightly that they are under pressure. Fill any empty gaps between the mugs with additional packing material. To keep the box from becoming too heavy, it's best to pack no more than 10 mugs per box. Finally, be sure to label the box as “fragile” so movers know to handle it with care.
