"Patio Enclosures was fantastic, the subcontractors that came to do the job were not. However, Patio Enclosures sent two Field Supervisors over to spend and entire day addressing all of our concerns. Overall, their customer service is what made us happy with this project and we absolutely love our 3-season room!"

"I went through several different estimates for a French drain and sprinkler system for our yard. Michael and his workers installed both well within his estimate and in the time frame he gave. His crew did an outstanding job and they were courteous and helpful. They answered ever question I had. Overall great job. I have absolutely no regrets hiring them."

"We have hired Sawyers multiple times over the years. This time it was to replace the house shingles and the patio roof. Buzzâ s team did a great job and stayed in touch for material delivery and schedule in the work. The work was great quality, we are very satisfied. Sawyers has done internal renovations, window and door replacement in the last. We have always been happy with the work and the continue to get our highest recommendations. Regina is delightful and keeps us informed."

Rockwood Contracting provides excavation, land improvement, and outdoor construction services throughout Northwest Arkansas. My background as a professional trail builder brings a high level of precision, terrain knowledge, and attention to detail to every project. I specialize in working with the land—not against it—and am comfortable operating on the steep and challenging grades common throughout NWA.\n\nServices include excavation and grading, landscaping, pond building, deck construction and repair, demolition, site prep and cleanup, professional trail building, and land access improvements.\n\nA major focus of my work is helping property owners unlock the full potential of their land by creating safe, practical access to steep, wooded, overgrown, or previously unusable areas. Every project is approached with quality workmanship, thoughtful planning, and a clean, professional finish.

Patios questions, answered by experts

There are many materials to choose from, including picket fencing, wood slats, galvanized metal skirting, dog-ear fence panels, scallop wood fence panels, bamboo screens, and other decorative screens. You can search for materials at local big box stores like Home Depot or scour online home improvement sites. Good search terms to use are fencing, skirting, and privacy panels.

In almost all cases, you will need permits if you plan on building a sunroom over your patio, but regulations and requirements will depend on your municipality. Permits to enclose your patio will usually cost between $300 and $1,000. Since navigating local building codes and zoning requirements is challenging—and the consequences of not following them can be extremely expensive—we strongly recommend hiring a sunroom builder to complete the work and pull the permits for you.

A Florida room is a home addition that has finished walls with windows lining the perimeter, while a screened-in porch, also known as an Arizona room, lacks windows and instead has screens to maintain constant ventilation. Florida rooms provide longer enjoyment throughout the year because they’re closed off and will naturally get heated from the sun, while a screened-in porch will just be the same temperature as the ambient air.

Yes, porches require foundations. The type of foundation required, however, is determined by the type and use of the porch. For example, a screened-in porch won’t require a new cement foundation. However, if you turn your porch into a sunroom or plan on making it a living space, then chances are you need a foundation that’s more permanent than piers and posts.

A sunroom offers an additional indoor space to rest, dine, or host guests, all while inviting in as much sun as possible. Either built like an enclosed porch or a fully insulated home extension, a sunroom features floor-to-ceiling windows or screens that create an open, bright design while still remaining protected from the elements and bugs.
