"I am very pleased with my windows and the patio door! Also, the large bay window! The installation was timely and they cleaned up behind themselves, even hauling away extra "nuisance" stuff on my property. For all that I had done, the price was more than reasonable! I would gladly recommend them to anyone needing windows. Courteous & friendly people!"

"Excellent work. We purchased natural cherry cabinets in shaker style, with the panels made of solid wood rather than veneer. That is more difficult work, as each panel has to be constructed from several planks. Moreover, the clear finish would leave any flaws more visible. Simply put, the doors are beautiful--flawless in both construction and finish. They are similar in quality to custom cherry furniture we own."

"It was a Big Deal purchase. It went great. It was fantastic. There was no extra charge. The windows were clean. They didn't make the windows better than when they were new but they did it really well. Everyday I get up and I go out there just to look through those windows. They did a good job."

Window Door Contractors questions, answered by experts

The screen material you choose depends on your needs. Here are some differences to consider:

  • Fiberglass is the least expensive but needs replacing more often.

  • Aluminum suits almost any job and doesn’t stretch as easily as fiberglass.

  • Pet-resistant screens are more expensive than fiberglass or aluminum, but they’re also wind and weather-resistant.

  • Metal screens, like stainless steel, are the most expensive material for rescreening your porch or sunroom. However, they last for years and are golf ball-resistant.

Ensures proper fit and function, maximizing insect protection and airflow.

A vacuum with a hose attachment or a lint roller can easily remove dust from your window screen. Pressure washing window screens is another option, but you should make sure you have the appropriate nozzle and pressure setting to avoid doing extensive damage to your window.

Options include fiberglass, aluminum, and pet-resistant screens to suit different needs.

The steps to replace a retractable screen can vary, but these are the general steps: First, remove the screen cover to expose the screen mechanism and remove the clip that holds the screen in place. Next, depress the end of the screen mechanism so it releases from the door frame. Take your new screen and fit one end into the frame. You may need to rotate the mechanism to engage the spring before inserting the other end into the frame. Finally, pull the screen down the length of the door’s opening and lock it in place with the clip.
