"I have to give a HUGE shout out to Mahan Septic Systems and Dirt Work from Hot Springs, AR. We had a stopped up toilet and needed some assistance. We found them on Angi and they contacted us immediately. We made arrangements and they came the next day and found the issue and solved it. They even came back the following day and fixed the toilet lid (which wasn't even on the fix list!). I would highly recommend giving them a call the next time you need any septic and plumbing work. Technically, you can put an elongated toilet seat on a round toilet, but it’s not a good idea. A wax ring can often last the entire lifespan of a toilet, which is typically 20 to 30 years. However, it may need to be replaced sooner if it becomes damaged. Signs that your wax ring needs replacement include bad odors or leaks coming from the base of the toilet. The wax can also dry out, flake, or crumble if the toilet was not secured correctly upon installation or has become loose over time. If you notice your toilet wobbles, it's a good indication that the wax ring may be compromised and should be inspected to prevent leaks.

To drain a broken toilet, place towels or plastic sheeting around the base in case of splashing or overflowing. Next, shut off the toilet’s water supply, usually via a valve on the wall behind the toilet. Begin flushing the handle to remove as much water as possible from the tank and the bowl. Don’t flush the toilet if it’s clogged, though. From there, use a large sponge to soak up any remaining water and wring it over a bucket.
