"H20 Waterproofing does a fantastic job! I love all the people that I’ve dealt with. I own many rental properties and this is the only waterproofing company that I will ever use. They are professional and truly try to help the customer. Six weeks after they finish my crawlspace there was a major flood. They sent Amari back out and he helped me get everything cleaned up and they honored all the work that they did. This is a top-notch company!"

"ACE Foundation Specialists were friendly, knowledgeable, and thoroughly assessed the work needed. They walked me through several options, listened to my concerns, and we settled on a plan of action and price. They showed up and did the work on time and at a price quoted, with no hidden costs. They promised to skim the sod and put the grass plugs back so it would not look like I had a drainpipe trench dug through my front yard. I was skeptical, but once they finished, all the grass blends in unless you go out and walk that area. I recommend ACE Foundation Specialists and will use them again for all my foundation issues."

"Marcus and the team at Peer-Less did a great job on the project! Attention to detail was important to them and they asked time and again if I was satisfied. I am already setting the stage for more concrete work in the back next summer."

"I was very pleased with how both the estimate and the waterproofing was done. The estimate went over and beyond what others had done to find where the water was coming from. Mark came out and showed me first-hand where the water came from by making it leak while we were watching. No one else did that. They came right on time to fix it and showed me what they found and how they would fix it. The job was done quickly, but thoroughly. Everything was put back into place. Of course, we have to have some more heavy rains to test their work, but I have every confidence that what they did will work. They were pleasant to work with and they kept me appropriately informed. I would recommend them to anyone who asks."

Masonry questions, answered by experts

Discoloration ondifferent types of brick can range from harmless to red flag. For example, efflorescence that is caused by a buildup of water-soluble white salt is considered harmless. However, green or greenish-yellow stains are caused by salts that are harmful to brick. Staining can also be caused by rust, corrosion, lime run, soot, algae, or moss.

Yes, you can paint stone on the exterior of a house. It’s important to properly prep the stone by cleaning off dirt and debris. You’ll want to apply at least two coats of paint to get the most even and complete coverage. Any pinholes or missed spots, however small, can allow moisture to get into the masonry and potentially cause the paint to blister and peel from the stone.

Brick houses can last at least 100 years with minimal maintenance. With regular care and attention, including mortar repointing, brick houses can last 500 years or more.

Professionally done brick repointing can last 20 to 30 years, sometimes longer. However, the exact lifespan depends on several factors, including the quality of the mortar, the skill of the mason, and exposure to weather. If you live in an area with harsh weather or frequent freeze-thaw cycles, you may need to repoint more often. Repointing that is done as a DIY project may only last 10 to 15 years. It's time to repoint when you notice signs of mortar failure, such as crumbling or missing mortar, holes, or vines growing between the bricks. Regular inspections can help you catch these issues early.

The difference between river rock and landscaping rocks is size, smoothness, and use. River rocks are smooth and flat, as if polished by water, and come in diameters between 1 and 8 inches. Landscape rock can vary in size from small pea gravel installations to car-sized boulders. However, landscaping and river rocks are interchangeable in many situations. River rock is best for pathways, walkways, garden bed mulch, water features, and planting accents, while small landscape rocks can serve as a walkway base, gravel playground areas, and filler between pavers.
