"Olympus Landscapes and Perfections has completely transformed our yard and it looks incredible now. They installed sod, a large flagstone path, a paver pad, playground mulch, fire pit with a flagstone patio, fountains, retaining walls, plants, mulch, and playground mulch. Corey is extremely hardworking, honest, reliable, and a very talented landscape designer. They've exceeded my expectations."

"Jimmy, Josh and their crews took a jungle of a back yard and made it beautiful. The designed and did the entire project. We have received dozens of compliments from our neighbors as well as the City Inspectors. The built the retaining wall and waterfall, did the grading and installed the complete drainage and irrigation systems. Their price was very fair and concrete began the project they stayed on the job until they finished. I would give them six stars if I could. Highly recommend them for all landscape related projects. "Bobby and his crew did a great job. We had heard so many horror stories about pool contractors but they made it a breeze. They were upfront about everything and maintained their word the entire durationa and even after project completion. Any mistakes or concerns were fixed. They didn't have the lowest quote but they did have the best customer satisfaction when I called their references and that was our deciding factor. I will gladly pay a little more to get the job done right and that is what you get from Band J Pools. I will also say that not only did they put my pool in for me, they have always been there for me in support of our pool journey with any question I have had since! Hard to find a business in this day and age that stands behind their work and their word like Band J Pools. If we ever had a need for another pool installation you can bet I would call these guys!

Landscaping questions, answered by experts

You should plant trees at least 15 to 20 feet away from your house, and more if the tree will grow large and spread its limbs. Trees pose several dangers to houses when planted too close. They can litter the roof with leaves and branches, create fire hazards, make a ladder for larger pests, and even damage the foundation as their roots grow.

By definition, gardeners are experts at designing and maintaining outdoor gardens. Their job duties extend far beyond choosing the right plants for the area, which in itself is a job—they also help maintain the health and well-being of the plants. Gardeners work independently or for landscapers, nurseries, or horticulture design companies.

There are many factors to consider when building an in-ground concrete pool. This includes the pool’s primary purpose (relaxation or exercise) if you live in a warm or cold climate (how often it’ll be used), and if you have the budget for chemical treatments and pool maintenance. In-ground pools are often more costly than aboveground pools, but they’re considered more luxurious and hold more value.

If you don’t like the way your empty drainage ditch looks, reach out to a local landscaping professional to discuss your options. They may be able to liven it up with plants, stones, bushes, or other decorative elements. You can also add your own landscaping, but you should first make sure that it won’t block your ditch or prevent it from operating effectively.

As much as you might try to keep a healthy, nutrient-rich lawn, you still may notice signs of St. Augustine decline (SAD)—a viral disease that discolors your grass blades. St. Augustine decline looks like:

  • Discoloration in the leaves (chlorosis)—leaves appear yellow and splotchy

  • Decline in growth

  • Leaves turn black within 3 years

  • Grass appears less vibrant

  • Grass begins to thin

  • Root rot

  • Grass takes longer to recover
