"Mr. Godsey way very knowledgeable, very friendly and respectful. He repaired and reinstalled the nightshade and sun screen combo on our motorhome. He reinstalled it but it needed to be moved over a couple of inches.. without hesitation he took the shade back down and moved it where I wanted it. All the while he maintained hiis wonderfully personable attitude. Thank you so much for sending him to us!"

"Gail and her team have been cleaning our house weekly for nearly 8 months and always do an excellent job. It's more than just the cleaning, it's the little things. I'm always amazed at how they leave the house like it not only cleaned but in order, with everything stacked, straightened and put away. Another attribute that I have to mention about BC&G is that they are super fast. They typically come in with a full crew (usually 5) and they have the house clean within 1-1 1/2 hours. They are courteous, professional and trustworthy. I highly recommend them

Carpet Installation questions, answered by experts

The difference between a 40-oz. and 60-oz. carpet is the carpet face weight, meaning the 60-oz. carpet weighs 20 ounces more per square yard. When looking at two similar carpets of the same material and type, the 60-oz. carpet face weight likely indicates higher quality and more durability due to heavier carpet fibers.

On average, installing carpet costs between $3 and $11 per square foot, depending on factors like the carpet material, style, and labor rates in your area. Sometimes, installers will include carpet removal in these costs, so if you don’t have any carpet to remove, you can save time and spend less money on labor.

Costs depend on carpet quality, labor, underlayment, and furniture moving requirements.

No, it works best under synthetic carpets in high-traffic or moisture-prone areas. Avoid using moisture barrier padding under natural fiber carpets like wool, which need air circulation. The barrier can trap the moisture against natural fibers and cause problems. Also, you can skip it in low-risk areas like upstairs guest bedrooms, where the extra protection often isn't worth the added cost.

It is not recommended to install or stretch a carpet without a power stretcher. Skipping essential tools like a power stretcher and a knee kicker will likely result in an improper installation, leaving you with wrinkles, creases, and an unappealing final look. While a knee kicker can provide some limited stretching for thinner carpets, it is not a proper substitute. Attempting to stretch a carpet by hand or with homemade tools can also shorten its lifespan. For the best results, you should buy or rent a stretcher. If you do not want to use a stretcher, it is better to hire a professional for the installation.
