"Absolutely great! We live on a hill with a long driveway winding up thru the trees. Our many trees had just finished dumping all their leaves, making the driveway invisible. When we saw the hard freeze warning for tomorrow night, we called Angi's List this morning and submitted a request for help. Father & Son Landscaping showed up this afternoon and did a beautiful job of clearing our long driveway, sidewalks, a parking pad, and even our carport before it started raining. We are so grateful!"

Customers say: Terrific value

"I cannot say enough good things about Vargas Home Improvement. They were always quick to respond, very polite, and their work speaks for itself. We wanted an additional set of stairs with a landing added to our back deck and they delivered above our expectations. They worked very hard and efficiently to get the job done and we are extremely impressed with the end result. From the time we reached out to Vargas for a quote to the time the job was done, everything about this experience was great. I will refer them to anyone and everyone in need of home improvement work. We are so thankful for their job well done! We can t wait to use them again for our future projects!"

"Our lawn hasn’t looked this good in a very long time! The edging was done perfectly, the driveway and walk way were all clean along with the shrubbery trimmed, limbs and trees all pruned and cut! Issac was polite and respectful which you don’t see much in younger folks these days. I highly recommend this company for all your lawn care services!"

Emergency services offered

"I originally wanted shrubs trimmed back, but changed my mind when I saw how massive the shrubs had become. The shrubs covered the entire first floor windows, doors, and part of the second floor windows. When he arrived to the job site, he was more than accommodating when I changed the plan to have the shuns cut down. It was a great decision and now the front of my house is visible, giving it a much cleaner look. I am very pleased!"

Leaf Removal questions, answered by experts

No. Standard homeowners insurance does not cover any kind of lead remediation, focusing instead on sudden, unpreventable events like fires and theft. Many insurance companies will specifically exclude lead paint removal, since it tends to be an expensive and unavoidable project. The exception is if the lead surface is damaged during a covered event (like a flood) and homeowners insurance pays its replacement.

According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), hazardous waste is generally classified into four main categories:

1. Characteristic Wastes: These exhibit at least one of four hazardous traits: ignitability (flammable, like gasoline), corrosivity (can rust or decompose materials, like car batteries), reactivity (unstable and can explode, like aerosol cans), or toxicity (harmful when ingested, like lead-based paint).

2. Listed Wastes: These are specific wastes from manufacturing and industrial processes that the EPA has officially designated as hazardous. They include byproducts from processes that use solvents, pesticides, and other chemicals.

3. Universal Wastes: These are commonly generated hazardous items that are subject to streamlined regulations. Examples include batteries, pesticides, mercury-containing equipment (e.g., bulbs), and some lamps.

4. Mixed Wastes: This category includes waste that contains both hazardous and radioactive components, making it subject to regulation by both the EPA and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.

You can sell a house with lead paint, but there are several requirements. If you are aware that lead paint exists anywhere in the home, you must disclose that to potential buyers. Required home inspections will often uncover lead paint, especially for older houses where lead paint may still be a problem. If you have taken steps to encapsulate lead, you should provide buyers with full documentation of the project so it won’t cause any problems later on.

The best disposal method for hazardous waste is to take it to a professional dumping facility that specializes in and accepts hazardous materials. These facilities will dispose of the materials in a way that is safe for both humans and the environment. If you don’t have access to a nearby facility, the best way to get rid of hazardous waste is to call a professional garbage removal company who handles disposing of hazardous materials .

The best way to remove lead paint is by wet hand sanding and removing all dust and residue with a HEPA vacuum. Professionals may also strip and scrape lead-based paint with a paint scraper. In some cases, you may choose to have a pro encapsulate or enclose your lead-based paint surface by covering it with a sealant or a new material. You may also choose to replace the material altogether.
