"We have just moved into a three-story house for wheelchair accommodations for our daughter and my mother-in-law. We have been experiencing increasingly high temperatures and very high power bills since we moved in the last couple of months. I called. Jordan and explain to him our situation, and he was out the next week, adding insulation to both our atticâ s, and fixing all of our old insulation. He did an absolutely incredible job, was so professional, his coworkers were very polite, and he even offered some other ideas to help with our cooling issues. They cleaned up everything that they made a mess and I couldnâ t have asked for more professional company. If you need insulation work done, this is the company to call."

"Everything went extremely well and we are highly satisfied with the results!! On initial visit, they discussed with us various options, gave very helpful advice on any of our concerns, and and made a thorough inspection of the basement to plan detail work and address problem areas. They left the place clean and with a nice, thick layer of open-cell insulation. We are very impressed with their work! Would recommend anytime and hire again."

Drywall Insulation questions, answered by experts

Plaster is denser, harder, and more porous than drywall, so it absorbs moisture differently. This means you’ll often need more prep work, such as thorough sanding, patching, and priming with a high-quality bonding primer. Additionally, you may need more coats of paint to achieve even coverage. While the process takes more time, it helps ensure a durable and professional-looking result.

While fumigation chemicals cannot pass through solid objects, they will seep into any openings in walls, doors, or other closed spaces. This allows them to get into tight places where pests may be hiding and causing damage, like termites ruining the foundation of your home. It also means that your home needs to ventilate for 48 hours before returning to ensure that no harmful chemicals remain in your space.

Plaster is a beautiful finish but is labor-intensive to install and remove. It’s vulnerable to cracking and more sensitive to moisture variance than drywall. Installing plaster on a new wall is an expensive process that can take days to weeks, depending on the scope. Removing a plaster wall can also be quite expensive and time-consuming.

Although they have similar applications, spackle and joint compound are not the same. Their primary differences lie in their composition, consistency, and ideal use cases.

Spackle is composed of gypsum and binding agents, making it thicker than joint compound. It dries quickly and is easy to sand, which makes it ideal for small wall repair projects like filling nail holes or patching minor damage.

Joint compound, also known as drywall mud, consists of limestone and gypsum. It is primarily used for large-scale projects, such as taping and finishing the seams on newly installed drywall. It tends to shrink more than spackle and can be more difficult to spread.

While both products can be used to fill small depressions and cracks, spackle cannot replace joint compound for taping and mudding new drywall. Conversely, you can often use joint compound for small patching jobs typically done with spackle.

Many homeowners choose to install tongue and groove over drywall. The great thing about this type of ceiling is that it hides imperfections. If your drywall is a little bit wonky or has some minor damage, the tongue and groove planks should cover it and give it an even appearance. Installation is simplest if you install battens over the existing framing before installing your tongue and groove planks.
