"I had my condo's balcony enclosure replaced with screens, double glass windows and doors, venetian blinds and flooring, Andrew Mulichak was the design consultant I worked with. He was terrific. He was thorough in explainig my options, helpful in filling out papers for my orders and for financing, He was fun to work with and I recommend calling him if you want a new sunroom or enclosure. I had some installation glitches but the company was good at fixing the problems. I love my new enclosure and I'm glad I hired Patio Enclosures."

"Matt and his crew were absolutely awesome. They communicated well with me to schedule times to come out, did the work in a timely manner, and were so kind and respectful. Our patio dried a little faster than they anticipated and Matt came out an extra day to seal cracks that appeared. Customer's Service was incredible! Hire these guys. We will be on any future projects for sure."

"Butler and Associates Construction did a wonderful job on our new driveway. They tore out the old cracked driveway and replaced it with a new smooth and solid surface for our family to enjoy. They were efficient, professional and treated our property with respect leaving a clean worksite each day. We get compliments on our new driveway almost every day from neighbors walking past. Can’t recommend Jonathan and his crew enough!"

Small jobs welcome

"Responsive, reasonable and expert. They were quick to show up for an on-site consultation for providing a concrete pad for a garage/storage building I has having built. Deak Concrete showed extensive expertise with the type of structure I was installing. They made sensible and practical recommendations that enhanced the siting of the structure and made it much more congruent with the other buildings. Their estimate was well within the guidelines that sites like HomeAdvisor indicated I should expect. Dennis and crew were on site immediately the next day and had superb site preparation. Today, the concrete was poured and finished so quickly I didnâ t even here the effort from my home office. The crew returned later in the day to complete an exemplary finishing job and cleared the site with absolutely no detritus left behind. Totally professional, effective, efficient and a pleasure to work with. Deak Concrete is now enshrined on my â go-to guysâ list."

Patios questions, answered by experts

Yes, a sunroom will require a permit. You may just need a general construction permit for a screened-in porch or solarium. For a three-season room with electricity and a four-season room with electric, heating, and cooling, you’ll need additional permits for each of the utilities, as well as a roofing permit.

With proper maintenance, the average life span of a screened-in porch is six to eight years for the screens themselves, but the foundation and structure can last for 50 to 100 years. To keep your screened-in porch in good shape, clean your porch screens regularly, patch holes, re-seal the wood as needed, and address any foundational issues right away.

A well-constructed and well-maintained sunroom can last as long as the rest of your house. If you build the sunroom to the same standards using the same quality materials as the house and perform regular maintenance to ensure the room stays in top condition, it can bring you decades of enjoyment.

While there is no one size that’s considered best, the sunroom size that’s best for you will come down to the size of your home and how you want to use your sunroom. Smaller sunrooms under 120 square feet provide a nice semi-outdoor sitting area, medium-sized sunrooms between 120 and 200 square feet can house an outdoor dining area and a small area for additional seating, and large sunrooms over 200 square feet can serve multiple purposes and even include an outdoor kitchen.

A deck is typically attached to a house and accessed via the back door. Decks are usually constructed from wood or composite materials. A terrace, on the other hand, is a raised platform that can be attached to or detached from the house and is typically made from a hard-paved material, such as paving stones. Terraces can be built on the ground or on the roof of a home.
