It costs a certain amount of money to bring a technician, truck and supplies to every job, no matter what the size. For JCS, that minimum charge is $55.00. IICRC Standards require dry vacuuming, pre-spotting, pretreatment of carpet fibers, hot water extraction cleaning, application of protector, if requested, and grooming of the carpet. Spots such as red stains, rust and printer inks etc … require additional treatment above and beyond basic cleaning. The cost of these services is $5 per square foot. If the stains can be removed over time can tell. This cleaning is priced based on the amount of time and material required. Carpet protector, such as Scotchguard or Teflon, are $.35 per square foot, while steps cost $3.00 each. Complete estimates can be done over the phone and then confirmed by the technician when they arrive. At minimum, your carpet should be professionally cleaned once per year. This is a minimum and you should expect the carpet to need a corrective or restorative cleaning. JCS recommends monthly cleanings for high-traffic areas, and quarterly cleanings for medium-traffic areas. This type of program is a maintenance program which will keep your building looking professional while prolonging the life of the carpet. Keep in mind that carpet cleaning cannot correct or stop wear. Wear is, in fact, the loss of fiber. What method is best? There are several types of carpet cleaning, depending on what your needs are. For pure cleaning ability, Truck-Mounted Hot Water extraction works best. For appearance and lowest cost, bonnet cleaning works best.
