"We had siding that had that was damaged from high winds. I called the business they came out and gave estimate. We scheduled a appointment time of 11 am the next day but due to severe storms due the day of he came and repaired it at 7am in the rain instead. He did amazing work and even with 65 mile hour winds just a few hours later the repairs held firm. We liked his work so much we are going to hire him for other projects. I highly recommend that you hire him also."

"Keel Paint has performed several projects for us. We had interior rooms , as well as the exterior of our whole house & porch. We had our bathroom vanities (3) stained and our pool deck painted with non slip wood coating. Most all exterior work required pressure washing and we were very pleased with the outcome! We are more than pleased with the professionalism, promptness, cleanliness and competive pricing. We would highly recommend this company for any painting or pressure washing projects!"

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

Wood stain is typically dry to the touch within 6 to 12 hours, but it is not fully cured at this point. You should wait at least 24 hours before applying a second coat or a protective finish. For surfaces like decks, avoid walking on them for at least 24 to 48 hours, and wait even longer before placing furniture. The full curing process can take from 24 hours to one week, depending on the type of stain. Factors like high humidity and cold temperatures can extend drying and curing times, so it's wise to allow for extra time in these conditions.

If you have wood decking, there are several common deck problems that you might encounter. For example, your natural wood boards may fade over time due to things like sunlight, weather, and debris. On top of that, some types of wood decking can rot, grow mold, and attract destructive pests—including termites, carpenter ants, and woodpeckers.

Deck staining or painting safeguards wood against the elements through its protective layer, enhancing decay resistance, prolonging structural integrity, and improving visual appeal.

Always sand a deck before repainting so the wood is smooth and ready for paint. While you do not need to fully remove paint before repainting, sanding helps remove any areas with weather and sun damage. Sanding also helps remove chipped or flaking paint and opens the wood pores to improve paint adhesion.

Wood stain does go bad, but it will last in the can for between three and six years, provided you use proper storage techniques. Storing wood stain in open containers or in extremely low or high temperatures will cause your wood stain to become unusable much more quickly. Water- and latex-based wood stains typically last for just two to four years, while oil-based wood stains can last for three to six years.
