"Mendez and team did a phenomenal job removing the different outdated flooring and installing LVP flooring that I had purchased. The team did such a great job that when I remove the carpet in the rest of the home, they’ll be the team that I hire to do so. The first photo is what it looked like and the second is the installed LVP flooring"

Small jobs welcome

"The company responded very fast to my request for new carpeting. The gentleman arrived within 4 days to give an estimate, which was actually VERY reasonable compared to other estimates! The crew arrived to carpet my living room and three bedrooms within one week of the estimate (total time for the entire process including the request for work/estimate/completion-less than 2 weeks). I did have to schedule a follow-up to correct a few small errors (tack strip with exposed tacks-and two spots where the carpet did not connect flush with the wall). Repair work was a little slower than the original job, a total of three weeks to get the repairs-which was finished in less than 2 hours. All in all, I am very pleased with this LOCAL company and the final project is very nice. I WILL consider this company for any future carpet work I require."

"Huey showed up on time and did an excellent job. Additionally, they cleaned up after the job and all for a competitive price. After meeting with several contractors, Hueys honesty and integrity stood out for me. I would highly recommend Huey?s and will definitely use them for any flooring needs in the future."

Carpet Installation questions, answered by experts

No, thick carpet padding isn’t necessarily better than thinner padding. The appropriate padding thickness will depend on the type of carpet and the amount of foot traffic in the area.

For example, thick padding works well in low-traffic areas, like bedrooms, where you have soft and plush carpeting. However, thick carpet padding can damage low-pile carpet, which is used in the busiest parts of your home (like hallways and entryways). For that reason, it’s best to use thinner, heavier padding underneath carpet in high-traffic areas.

When deciding whether to repair or replace your carpet, consider its age, the extent of the damage, and its location. It's often best to replace the entire carpet if the damage is extensive, such as large sections needing replacement, or if it's caused by water, which can lead to mold problems. Similarly, if your carpet is nearing a decade old, replacement is likely the more logical choice. On the other hand, consider repairing your carpet if the damage is localized to one spot, like minor rips or snags, the carpet is still relatively new, or the damage is in a low-traffic area of your home.

The complexity of installation depends on the type of flooring you choose and the level of expertise required to install it. While some materials, like vinyl or laminate, offer relatively straightforward installation processes suitable for DIY enthusiasts, others, such as natural stone or hardwood, often require professional assistance from a flooring company to ensure proper fitting and longevity.

New carpet installation offers warmth, comfort, and aesthetic appeal. It can improve indoor air quality by trapping dust particles and provides a sound-dampening effect, which is beneficial for creating quiet environments.

Installing carpet padding is mostly a matter of measuring the room and cutting the carpet pad to size with a utility knife. You can save some money on carpet installation costs by doing it yourself. Before installing the carpet padding, you should install the tack strips around the room’s perimeter and prepare the subfloor by cleaning and making any necessary repairs. Then, unroll the carpet pad and cut sections as needed. Staple the carpet pad to the subfloor along the edges, leaving the tack strips exposed.
