"Stan called the same day I requested a quote. After accepting his quote he arrives the next day. He was delayed on a job but kept me posted as to when he would arrive. After he installed my water line the pvc pipe busted I believe by no faul of his own. He came the same day I called and took care of the problem. Nice job Stan. Thank you!"

"Daniel Sullivan came out to give us a price and also took time to listen to all of our needs and even give us advice outside of our plumbing problem. His price was very reasonable. He was able to get us on the schedule and taken care of pretty quickly. He did a great job and was very honest and informative throughout the entire process. If we ever need help again we will always call him!"

"My building was built on a slab and we were having issues with heavy rain and water intrusion. The company was able to come out and fix the problem. He came out and did exactly what he said that he would do when he said that he would do it. Based on the rain that we’ve had here recently there are no problems. Hard worker."

"The brothers were very knowledgeable and quickly assessed what the problems were and took less than half an hour to fix and they explained what the problems were and how they were fixing them and other things to lookout for. The twins were also entertaining to help with keeping things at ease."

"My crawlspace was wet, moldy, and just nasty. The insulation was soaking wet and it smelled awful. I called five different companies to come out and give me quotes on what they thought needed to be done. I had quotes all over the board ranging from $7,000 all the way up to $48,000. Southern dry was not the cheapest but no where near the most expensive. I decided to use them because Kevin the sales associate I used fully explained the process and broke down each step to where I could understand what was going to be accomplished and what materials would be used. They were even willing to accommodate my special request of adding an extra door to have access under my porch. The installation team, Cha-Chi, Michael, and Ventura were absolutely outstanding. They communicated well and made me fully aware when each step of the process would be taking place. They also always arrived on time and made sure to clean up any trash after each day of work. All in all, SouthernDry is a top notch company with top notch employees to match, would recommend them to anyone."

Storm Drain Installation questions, answered by experts

Storm door panels are typically made from tempered or laminated glass, and each type has its benefits. Tempered glass goes through a special heating and cooling process, increasing its strength and durability. It’s known for its safety features—when it breaks, it shatters into small, relatively harmless pieces rather than sharp shards. Laminated glass is made by sandwiching a layer of plastic between two layers of glass. This interlayer holds the glass pieces together even when shattered, preventing them from scattering.

Each has its use, depending on the scenario. Security doors are primarily intended to keep people out of the home, while storm doors are used to protect the home from extreme weather. Both tend to be made from heavy-duty metal and may include glass panels to allow light to enter the home. Storm doors can feature mesh screens, just like screen doors, to allow for increased ventilation and to keep out pests. Security doors rarely, if ever, have mesh screens.

Some storm doors might need two closers, depending on the weather conditions in the area. For example, if it’s particularly windy where you live, installing two storm door closers (instead of one) can prevent your door from slamming shut when it’s propped open. You can place one at the top of your door and another at the bottom.

Storm doors last about 25 years, although high-quality and well-maintained storm doors could last up to 50 years. The type of storm door can impact lifespan, so be sure to consider the durability of different frame materials and glass types before making a purchase. Also, keep in mind that while storm doors can typically mitigate the impact of strong winds and harsh weather, repeated exposure to storms can wear down the door and shorten its lifespan.

While sometimes used interchangeably, screen doors and storm doors have key differences. Screen doors are simple structures, typically composed of just a frame and a screen, designed to keep out bugs while allowing air circulation. In contrast, storm doors are heavier and more complex, built to protect your home's main entry door from weather and intruders. They usually feature an aluminum frame with interchangeable tempered glass and screen panels, allowing you to switch between ventilation and insulation. A storm door offers more protection and versatility but generally costs more than a basic screen door.
