"Jimmy, Josh and their crews took a jungle of a back yard and made it beautiful. The designed and did the entire project. We have received dozens of compliments from our neighbors as well as the City Inspectors. The built the retaining wall and waterfall, did the grading and installed the complete drainage and irrigation systems. Their price was very fair and concrete began the project they stayed on the job until they finished. I would give them six stars if I could. Highly recommend them for all landscape related projects. Small jobs welcome

I’ve been doing tree and skid steer work for about 20 years, customer satisfaction is my goal. The job is not complete until you, the customer, are happy. I am a perfectionist, I like and want stuff done right! I am willing to travel almost anywhere within the state. I am highly efficient in a skid steer and working out of a bucket truck..

Excavating questions, answered by experts

Maintain open communication and address issues as they arise, ensuring contract terms cover potential delays.

Trenches are typically 12 to 24 inches deep and 8 inches wide. However, the required depth depends on the specific project and local ordinances. For example, a French drain may need to be 18 inches deep, while a water pipe might require a depth of 24 inches and a drainage pipe 36 inches. Your city or county may have specific regulations, so it's wise to consult with an excavation professional to determine the correct depth for your project.

To locate an underground downspout, you should start by identifying where the above ground gutter drains. Look for an entry point, such as a pipe or elbow leading into the ground. Follow the surface path for signs like depressions, landscaping disruptions, or wet areas after rain. You can use a metal detector or plumber’s snake to trace the pipe underground. For deeper pipes, a professional locator tool or camera inspection may be necessary. Visual markers or utility maps can also guide the search.

A crawl space can be as little as 42 inches below the grade of your house, but this is not always recommended in flood-prone areas. At a minimum, there must be at least 16 inches of clearance between the ground and the floor joists to access the space in an emergency.

Hard soil could be a sign of overly dry dirt, either from poor drainage or drought. It's important to test the nutrient levels, density, and drainage capacity of your soil to see if it's absorbing water properly. Begin by adding a light layer of water and observing how long the soil retains moisture. If you experience a good deal of runoff, you may need to aerate your lawn, apply a wetting agent, or hire a professional for a closer look.
