Work began on February 10th, 2015. On this first day, Roger and other members of his work crew took down our old wood deck and excavated the area to prepare it for the concrete slab. This included taking down a few shrubs and later setting up the forms for the slab. The next day another crew poured the concrete. Roger was in constant contact with me to inform me what was going on and even made sure the larger trucks avoided driving into our back yard so as to minimize any damage to the grass. Later that afternoon, the concrete was taking longer than expected to set up (due to the moisture in the air), but Roger's concrete crew stayed with it (until almost 8:00 that night!) until the concrete in the slab finally got set. The next day another crew arrived to install the metal patio cover. This included taking down a section of our existing gutter and attaching the cover the existing wood fascia. On the final day (the 13th), Roger, his son, and another worker arrived to install a set of concrete steps and a handrail while the patio cover crew arrived to finish the cover installation. Roger continued to be present to address any questions/concerns I may have had. At some point, one of the trucks that drove onto our driveway had accidentally pulled a suspended cable (for our house internet connection) that hangs over our driveway. Roger's son and his work partner hung the cable back to its proper place (actually in a better spot than before) and later brought to my attention a problem with my roof which I was unaware of (a problem I confirmed with other roofers who looked at it later that month). After a week or two, during a good rain, I noticed a slight water leak forming over the center part of the patio cover. I contacted Roger about the problem and he immediately contacted the head of the patio cover crew who then called me to address the problem. His crew came out in a few days, fixed the leak, and so far we have not had any further issues. We are very happy with our new patio and look forward to using it a lot this coming summer and in the coming years. Roger McMunn is extremely professional, friendly, easy-going, and patient, and is always ready to address a customer's questions or concerns. I would highly recommend his contracting company and will certainly keep him at the top of our list for any possible future projects. After some scheduling conflicts ( he stays very busy) he met my wife and I at our home and gave us an estimate for the work. It seemed there were a few other scheduling conflicts but he finally started and and did a great job. The only gripe I might have is that he seems to run the concrete where it is easiest for his men to do the work, and not necessarily where it wouldn't cause future problem with lawn care, or where I might want it. However, I accept some of the blame for that since I didn't stop him and have him do it over, and there was one area my wife wasn't happy with and Mike did re-poured that area with no complaints. I asked Mike about doing some concrete repair on my porch involving some decorative design work, but he has never gotten back with me or provided drawings of his ideas. If you can get Mike to do the work, he is good at his craft! I would definitely use him again. I hired them to pour in and raise the floor of an addition to the house on two separate occasions. The gentlemen that came to do the quote on the second remembered me from the first even though they were almost a year apart. They were on time, finished the jobs quickly and even came back to...

We offer quality and affordable concrete work, Honesty counts!
"Amazing! I expected the project to last minimum 3-4 days but they finished in 2! Great pricing! I was worried at first seeing as they gave me the best deal but they outdid themselves. Love my driveway extension. If I wanted anything different they made sure to ask me to make sure I got everything I wanted. They made me feel secure with answering all concrete questions I had. Very fast and hard workers. The pictures show it drying. This was their last day. They took out some trees as well and they were very good at doing that too. Very responsive with communication!"

"I hired M&C Landscapers (Mike) in November 2024 through Angi, and it turned into a costly mistake. Instead of doing a simple fence paint job correctly, he splattered paint all over both sides of my home?s siding, causing permanent damage.
When I reached out to him for a resolution, he refused to take responsibility and told me to ?feel free to do what you have to do? insinuating going to small claims court. No fix, no refund, no accountability ? just damage left behind after being paid in full.
This was some of the most careless workmanship and worst customer service I?ve ever experienced and this is my first ever bad review that I?ve done in my life. I strongly warn anyone considering M&C Landscapers: protect your home and hire someone else."

FAQs for concrete finishing projects in Athens, AL
Concrete repair costs range anywhere from about $0.10 to $0.15 per linear foot to fill minor cracks, to about $6 to $14 per square foot to replace damaged concrete slabs. Repair costs vary widely depending on the size and type of work needed. For example, replacing 100 square feet of driveway will cost between $600 to $1,400, on average.
The average cost of stamped concrete is around $12 per square foot, but you might pay anywhere from $8 to $28 per square foot. The average 12-foot by 12-foot patio costs $1,730 on average. Your exact pricing will depend on the patio’s square footage, the condition of the area where you want to pour the concrete, the desired stamp pattern, concrete coloring, concrete grade, and local labor prices. Don’t forget to budget for extra costs like land preparation and additional concrete fortifications if necessary.
Depending on the cost to repair your driveway, it may be more cost effective to tear out and replace it with a new concrete driveway. The cost to repave a driveway ranges between $1,400 and $12,100, including removal of the old concrete. Contact a reputable concrete contractor for advice and an estimate. They may have a good reason for going with repairs or replacement after assessing your driveway. You may also have the option to resurface your driveway or pave over it without taking out the existing one.
It’s possible to create stamped concrete yourself, but we don’t recommend it and it’s often not cost-effective. It’s easy to mess up the pattern of a stamped concrete patio or walkway, leaving you with an unsightly home exterior rather than the elegant solution you wanted. Any mistakes made during the ground leveling and concrete pouring process will also increase the risk of cracks forming on your concrete. Additionally, buying enough stamps to get the pattern in before your concrete cures can cost as much as hiring a professional to do the work for you.
Concrete contractors typically charge anywhere from $6 to $14 per square foot. Cost factors include job size, site prep, base material, accessibility, your location, concrete finish, and concrete thickness. Removal of existing concrete, asphalt, deck, pavers, and grass will cost anywhere from $1 to $6 per square foot. Homeowners can often save money by removing and disposing of existing pavers, decks, and grass. Breaking up and hauling away concrete and asphalt is difficult and time-consuming without the proper equipment and may be worth having the pros do that work.
