You can run a small or basic standard-size refrigerator on a 15-amp circuit. But you should plug a modern, standard-size refrigerator into a 20-amp dedicated circuit. The refrigerator needs to be on a dedicated circuit, meaning it is the only appliance and outlet on that circuit breaker. This method prevents tripping the breaker and reduces the chance of an electrical fire. 

Pellet stoves do require electricity to power their automated features, such as the pellet feeder, fans, and digital controls. However, their electricity consumption is relatively low compared to other household appliances. During a power outage, pellet stoves equipped with battery backup systems or manual ignition options can still operate, though fans and automatic feed mechanisms may not function. Have a backup heating plan in place for these situations, especially if you live in a region prone to severe weather events.

Often, you can add extra breakers to an electrical panel. A new breaker can help with new appliance needs, and it’s a common solution when finishing an attic or basement. However, adding extra breakers can’t bring in more amps to your house, so you still need enough amp service to power everything in total. 

If the outlet is a GFCI model, this is normal since these outlets have their own breakers that shut off when they encounter a problem—just hitting the reset button should solve the issue. Otherwise, the outlet could have bad wiring, or your circuit breaker could be having issues. If the issue started out of nowhere and is not on a GFCI outelt, it’s best to contact an electrician to diagnose the issue.
