Her scope of work for my understanding is not as much as it was when I hired the company. In the middle of the construction season, I'm trying to find companies that could fit me into their schedule. It was really, really hard so by the time I got to Earth Stone for the foundation work, I figured if I could like at least get the concrete slab in the foundation and the concrete slab in the garage, then I'll be doing good at that point. So when this woman answered the phone and she said like, \"What can I do for you? How can I help you?\", by that point I'm crying on the phone. She was very good. She got somebody out to do the quote that day and then also gave me names of other companies I call for some of the other work I was doing. She was very, very extremely helpful. They were actually out here this Saturday because by the time we were able to hire them and get them out to the job site to work, we had a very rainy season in August. It rained every single day and trying to do a foundation work and pour a concrete slab. So the ground was completely saturated and we kept having water comes out there and everything. During the winter, our winter got below 30 degrees and so we can't do the foundation work. I told them I would definitely hire them again."},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/ak/unknown/earth-stone-inc-reviews-8217101.htm"},"position":5},{"@type":"ListItem","item":{"@type":"LocalBusiness","name":"GMG General, Inc","address":{"@type":"PostalAddress","addressRegion":"AK","addressCountry":"US"},"review":{"@type":"Review","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"Laura D."},"reviewBody":"Front concrete patio; Rear patio/driveway; walkway of individual concrete steps. The work began when both units were empty. I returned after 2 weeks to the following: 1) Sheetrock around both hearths not square - severe bulges and depressions at interior / exterior corners. 2) Tiled entryways were not smooth or flat and there were gaps in the grout. Ryan blamed my selection of natural stone for the unevenness, though the material that I had selected was a honed (perfectly smooth) slate. I had presorted the tiles to be used prior to the job, to ensure that they were cut squarely and of uniform thickness, removing the ones that would have been difficult to use. 3) Installed shelving was stained in place, and stain was running down the walls 4) Both sides of the duplex were covered in a thick layer of dust. The work area had not been isolated from the rest of the unit. The former tenants had paid for carpet shampooing and spent days cleaning the unit prior to move out, which all has to be redone because of the mess. The windows had taken longer to come in than expected, so had not yet been installed. Firedoors to the garage had not been installed. I requested that all future work be canceled due to the quality issues. Ryan delivered the windows as ordered, so that they could be installed by another contractor, at which time I discovered that 5 of the 7 windows did not meet egress standards (which was the only reason that the current windows were being replaced). I also learned that subcontractors / employees which I had not met had done some of the sheet rock work. The use of subcontractors to do sheet rock and / or tile work had not been discussed at the time of the bidding. When I spoke to Ryan on the phone about the progress during the 2 weeks that I was away, I had been told that the work described above (with the exception of the windows, which he had told me were delayed) was completed and would be ready to paint when I returned. After bringing up the issues, Ryan said that the work was not yet done, and that I had essentially seen it before it was finished (with the exception of the tile job, which was complete). There was no pride of workmanship displayed. Ryan was not interested in reviewing the issues when they were presented, and was defensive in his communications. I was invoiced for ~2800 for the work that was completed, and am now having to pay to have almost all of it redone correctly. The tiles I had purchased myself, and will have to reorder. The delays in ordering new windows and repairing the work done has meant at least an additional month without rental income, as well as additional cleaning costs. I would NEVER think of taking my car to anyone but Hale's. Desiree and her crew are AWESOME !!!! My adult son uses my car to do his paper route up on the hillside since his is broke down. Somehow or other he got rocks and mud built up between the motor, motor mounts, gear shaft and tranny. It was making an ugly noise and causing the car to act like a vibrating recliner when you put it in reverse. Thinking it might be the tranny I made a desperate call (again) to Desiree and she said to bring it in as soon as I could. With a full list of clients already accounted for she worked my car in, found the problem and fixed it. To my happy amazement she had it back the next day with a smile and a funny "tell your son no more mud bogging and to stay out of the gravel pits" ... we all laughed and as always with Hale's I walked out with full knowledge that my car was fixed. Till the next time my son does something to it ... grin. The time prior to that I again called in a panic because my car was making a noise in the front, only to be told that I needed to get it in asap and again Desiree had a full docket but worked my car in as she could. That time it took a day longer than normal as she had to order the part but she did not pass that cost on to me. She and her crew are the only ones who will ever as long as they are in business work on my car, my husband's car, my son's car and his new girlfriend's car. My son and his new lady like the way Desiree worked with my in getting my little car up and running again so they plan on keeping her as their mechanic now as well. The price charged by them wasn't bad. The other companies wanted about $3000, $4000 and $5000. Alberto did a good job and he is going to be up-keeping the lawn. I haven't called him yet. He would probably not start until May or June. I am terrified that if I don't have somebody looking on the grass, then it would die. They were here when they said they were going to be here. They did it under the available time and within the time that they gave me. They were very good at explaining as to how I am supposed to take care of the lawn and what would happen. They gave me a very good run down of what to expect and what would happen. Everything happened as they said and the grass started coming up when they said. They were really careful about explaining everything to me and how to take care of my lawn. Alberto also did some gravel work on the outside and I think he charged me about $1000 for that. That was quite a bit of work too. They had to redo the side. I was thinking of blacktopping it, but I then decided to put some regular gravel. I wanted to have a piece of rubber to go along the side and made sure that it stayed in there. It wasn't a big area, but it had to be shaped in a certain way. Alberto was very nice and his work was really good."},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/ak/anchorage/alberto%27s-lawn-and-landscape-reviews-4707353.htm"},"position":10}]}

What a headache to deal with byler construction. None of their timelines are correct. Had me schedule inspection with nothing complete, not hooked up to utilities, house had debris all over the inside, sink holes on the property from them burying trash/debris and downed trees all over...

It went great! We had this large fake stone fireplace against a wood paneled wall. Dave and his son did a beautiful job sheet rocking, texturizing and painting the wall, removing all the fake stone from the fireplace, and added a great looking mantel. We will definitely hire Dave again when...

Carlos and his crew were very prompt and worked on all the days and at the times they said they would be there. All employees were pleasant. They accomplished a lot each day. They were considerate at all times, parking at the side of my driveway to allow me access to and from my garage. Not...

FAQs for stone and gravel service projects in Soldotna, AK
The average cost of a gravel driveway is about $1.25 to $2 per square foot, including the cost of materials, equipment, and professional installation. For example, a 16-by-30-foot driveway costs about $1,500. Cost factors include the type of gravel, how thick the gravel is installed, the condition of the landscape, and labor costs. Overall costs will vary depending on where you live and how accessible the job site is.
Because gravel moves, it requires different maintenance than asphalt or concrete. Here are a few maintenance tips for your gravel driveway. Every few years (or as often as needed):
A gravel driveway should last for up to 100 years with proper upkeep, which is minimal. Maintaining a gravel driveway includes grading and adding fresh gravel to fill in potholes. Otherwise, a gravel driveway holds up well to all kinds of weather. Plowing in the winter can be challenging and the gravel can develop ruts or potholes that need to be repaired, but the cost and longevity of gravel compared to concrete, asphalt, and pavers makes gravel an economical option, especially for long and/or wide driveways.
A gravel driveway should be at least 4 to 6 inches deep, depending on the soil it’s installed on. Softer soil that doesn’t drain well should have a deeper gravel driveway. Deeper gravel will mean you spend more on materials and labor, but you’ll get a more stable driveway and avoid damage that needs to be filled or graded flat again.
