Rox Asphalt

Rox repaved our driveway three years ago and did an excellent job. I should have posted this review much sooner but I wanted to see how the new driveway would stand up to a few Vermont winters and storms. It has done fantastically! From Tina doing the quote to the experienced crew knowing exactly how to grade the drive, the service and expertise were excellent. It is now time to reseal the drive (normal maintenance) and I am again appreciating the work that Rox put into it. I highly recommend these professionals.

The entire experience was flawless.

They provided me an estimated cost for the driveway, gave me an approximate date to to the work, and then called me a couple of days before to confirm scheduling.

They arrive on time with a full crew to do the work, and completed it within a few hours.

Because this was just a little residential job, it was tough to schedule Rox Asphalt. Getting all that fancy equipment and a team of guys on site for so little work took awhile to work into their schedule. In the end they showed up sort of by surprise late one Wednesday afternoon, fortunately I was home. (This is why I give a C for punctuality, a warning phone call would have been appreciated)
After that, everything went great. The team worked quickly and efficiently. They removed, graded, graveled, rolled, paved, re-rolled about 700sq.ft of asphalt in 2.5hrs. Amazing.
The quality of the work surpassed my expectations, and their price was less than all the other quotes I got. I would definitely hire them again.

I used Rox Asphalt

.The Rox crew showed up exactly on time. They worked for close to 8 hours in total removing sections of the pavement and replacing with new. They then paved over the entire driveway with new asphalt. They did discover one problem we were having with the driveway in one section - clay under the original paving. That was dug out, new fill material and a cloth mat was installed before repaving. The job went perfectly and we are very happy.

shape guys showed up on time and did a good job with the paving. They were a little sloppy insofar as they threw some scrap pieces into the woods instead of taking them away. A positive was they were flexible about reworking the shape of the driveway at the last minute and taking the extra material and laying down a thicker layer. A negative is that there were some places where weeds were popping through next spring which to me showed a lack of complete base prep.

Andy from Rox arrived in May to quote the job. He was prompt and provided me with a written quote on the spot. He was also able to give me names of other customers without delay or question. I had three other paving companies quote the same job. I say quote, but one never showed or called even though I spoke with them personally. The other two kept delaying showing up. Their quotes took 2 weeks and nearly 4 weeks. Neither one offered or gave me names of customers. Not very comforting. The Rox crew arrived at 7:30am on a Thursday with many trucks, trailers, equipment, and personnel. We reviewed the job again with some minor modifications and started working immediately. Everyone had a particular job and everyone started without orders being given. The marking, cutting, grading, etc went smoothly, even though there was a nagging rain that seemed to not want to go away. The first part of the job was completed in just over 2 hours. Since paving in the rain isn't the best method for a quality finished product, we agreed to wait for the sun to shine. Friday a.m. the crew arrived once again and a final rolling of the surface for a compacted finish was first job of the day. (Due to the rain the day before, the asphalt plant was backed up with traffic). The first truck arrived mid morning and laying the surface was underway. Again, without any need for orders from the boss, everyone started working and the process flew by. Job finished in about 2 hours. The finished product is better than I imagined. All edges are beveled, the slope along the retaining wall is straight, the ramps into and off the pavement are buried beneath the gravel, etc. It has rained a couple times since the paving and I studied the flow of water. All my concerns about how it used to pool up and not flow well have been answered. It now drains quite well along the back side (in front of the retaining wall) I am very pleased and would recommend Rox Asphalt to everyone.
