Contact cement is the best glue for resticking laminate to countertops. While laminate countertops can’t be restored like other materials like butcher block, granite, or Corian can, they can be restored to a smooth, sealed surface using refinishing kits or by covering them with a vinyl peel-and-stick sheet. You can also consider painting your laminate countertops for a fresh look. 

While Formica® countertops are scratch-resistant, they are not fully scratch-proof. They will develop marks on their upper decorative layer more easily than quartz, granite, or porcelain tile. Always use cutting boards for food prep and avoid dragging heavy items, such as blenders or big pots, across the surfaces.

You should always seal cut countertops to prevent damage and to keep them looking their best. The right way to seal countertops depends on the type of material. For laminate and wood, apply epoxy or other specialty sealers by pouring it onto the countertop and letting it flow across the whole surface to the edges, guiding it with a paint stick or putty knife. You will need to move quickly so that it does not dry or harden before you are done. For stone countertops, use a sealant specially manufactured for your type of stone and apply it according to manufacturer directions. 

You can likely use spray paint or a paint sprayer for your laminate countertops. You should prep the space the same way as if you were painting with a roller or brush, making sure to cover any areas that you want to protect with a drop cloth or plastic sheets.
