Lonn first stopped out to our home early this year for the initial sales visit and completed his work in late August. While we had a couple of other contractors stop out as well, the decision to use Lonn was an easy one. You’ll be impressed with his soft spoken, no nonsense demeanor. He listens to what customers want and he makes great practical design and functionality suggestions. He’s not out to sell you anything. He’s very matter of fact and well organized and will do whatever he can to accommodate your list of priorities. A little bit about our project. Our home was built in 1959 and the current cabinets were originals. Eighteen years ago, we initiated a limited remodel that included adding new doors and drawer fronts, but it wasn’t a full cabinet reface. At the time, we also added new countertops, tile and an additional free standing cabinet. Our goal in 2022 was to create a more contemporary, user friendly kitchen. We wanted to move away from our dated golden-toned, wood grain cabinets and go mostly White, and also switch to new updated White Oak wood grain reface on the newer free standing cabinet as an accent. Beyond the cabinet reface, we also needed some reconfiguration of existing cabinets. This included eliminating a very old wall oven and separate cook-top and adding an over the range microwave to maximize limited countertop space. Such a change afforded us enhanced pantry storage in the former wall oven space. We did away with the gas cooktop and small cabinet below and added a new gas range to that location. Lonn then added new cabinetry above the range to facilitate the new over the range microwave. He also replaced the cabinet above the refrigerator for easier access and increased space and modified our free standing cabinet with new drawers, versus previous hard to access shelving. Lastly, he eliminated a bookshelf on the end of that cabinet to give us a more streamlined, less cluttered look with better access to a hard to reach broom closet. Lonn was punctual and his work commenced and ended right on schedule. There were no unexpected issues whatsoever. We did use the tile contractor that Lonn referred us to for the removal and replacement of the backsplash tile. He did a nice job and we were happy with him. We didn’t use Lonn’s regular countertop guy, as we found an alternative source for that part of the project. The bottom line is that we now have a far more contemporary and attractive kitchen with more usable cabinet space and greater shelf and drawer efficiency. Thanks to Lonn and his assistant for their thoughtfulness and expert handiwork. I wholeheartedly recommend Custom Refacing to anyone considering a kitchen refresh

They tore it down to the studs and built it all back up with excellent plans, schedule, management of subcontractors, countertops and custom cabinets. The project stayed on and met the twelve-week schedule they laid out. The Cambria countertop measurements, production and installation took at least three to four weeks of that timeline and that could only happen AFTER the cabinets were installed, so their part actually went pretty fast. They took the time to make the cabinets fit our older house's kitchen measurements/eccentricities and supplies/appliances that we used

"Chris always responds back promptly to Angie's List messages. He kept me up to date on when he would be out and would tell me many days before he did so. That made it easy for me to plan. He upgraded some sliding closet doors that were worn out and very noisy. He was able to keep the wood doors themselves and reworked the sliding mechanism with new hardware. They work great and make little noise. He has done work for us before and he always pays attention to details and is reasonably priced. After the work is done he cleans up very well. If I have another project I would not hesitate to call on him again.

"We have a mid-century home that had a horrendous bathroom. We hired JNJ Carpentry to do a complete demo and remodel, including framing out and finishing a new hallway to the space to connect the bathroom to the finished basement (which had previously been open, unfinished space). We have lived in the house for over a decade and this was the first large scale remodel we've done. We had put it off remodeling the bathroom for years because I didn't know how we would ever find the right contractor to provide top level detail as well as respect our beloved home. I can say without any hesitation that JNJ Carpentry was the absolute best company to work with. We had talked with a number of other contractors and found things that were "red flags" from each of them (not wanting to pull permits, no contracts, no time to answer our questions, etc.). We had none of these flags with JNJ Carpentry. Jon took the time to walk us through each step of the process, we had a detailed and agreed upon contract, pulled all permits for the job, and answered every question we had with the utmost patience with our lack of knowledge. When we picked out finishes, he would weigh in if we asked for his opinion and found him to be incredibly informative and honest with us. When we moved into the actual construction phase, he was incredible at scheduling his sub-contractors and kept us informed of the schedule of progress. He was very quick to respond to our communications and made it all very "turn key" for us. They stayed incredibly close to the timeline laid out at the initial phases of construction, only thing that slowed us down for two days was our meddlesome cat walking through the fresh concrete! Finally, and for me, the very most important piece was the actual work. I cannot stress how impeccable their work is. I am a somewhat (super) particular person and there was absolutely nothing about their work product that I found lacking. Also, it stands to mention that how they go about their work is impressive. They protected our home while working (masking off other rooms, covering carpet, sweeping and putting all tools away at the end of the day.) This is a huge thing with me, I appreciated how much they respected that this is our home and treated it so professionally. The bathroom is absolutely stunning and we could not be any happier with the result or with JNJ Carpentry. We are planning a large remodel in the coming years and they will be getting another call from us.
