JRB RenovationsJosh and his entire team at JRB remodeled our entire first floor and finished basement. Extremely happy with the results and the quality of work. Josh is extremely attentive to detail and it definitely shows. He takes the time to make sure everything is done correctly and looks finished. On top of that, Josh is very easy to reach when needed and communicates every step of the process. Our remodel finished in roughly 80 days. Josh and his team would have had it done sooner but we ran into some delays with our city. Not the fault of JRB at all and Josh was very open about the process. The scope of the project included removing two walls, complete remodel of our kitchen and living rooms, a powder room, laundry room, basement living area, basement office, basement coffee bar and basement bathroom. Included in all of that was new plumbing, electrical (including a panel re-wire) and HVAC ducting. Overall, I highly recommend Josh and JRB for any home project. The work is done professionally and correctly with minimal headache. The part I enjoyed the most is that Josh doesn't try to sugar coat anything. He is able to explain the project, work through any issues that come up and communicate effectively so I (someone who isn't very handy) understand. Our home is over 40 years old (where does the time go?) and our bathroom showed it. There was work needed on the floor, the cabinets and the tub. Dawn and Stonebridge were a soothing influence, with a can do attitude and professional touch that was just what we needed. From selection of the perfect slab of granite, cabinets, faucets, floor tile and tub conversion, Dawn made sure it was done, completed to our satisfaction and in a timely fashion. No complaints here, just a feeling of fulfillment, and that is something we don’t take for granted these days. We have experienced our share of frustration over the years, but this was money well spent!

John was great to work with during the initial phase of the project. He actually was available all of the time and was very flexible in timing his installation around my schedule. His crew arrived on time when he scheduled them and they stayed until the job was complete. However, there was an issue with the plumbing in my upstairs bathroom that the plumber had to come back the next day to complete and he did. When he did, he did not clean up after himself, and he left sticky glue in the sink and all over my tile on the floor, which was a little hard to remove off the tile. Another issue i ran into was that the dishwasher was not screwed down and was shaking and i did not know what was wrong with my brand NEW dishwasher and had the repair dept come out and they showed me exactly what the problem was. It was because when the countertops were installed, the dishwasher was never bolted back down and I had to call and ask that someone come out to complete this task. I also noticed (what I thought) were cracks in the granite. I sent text messages to John on approximately six times asking him to come out and look at them and each time, there seemed to be a family emergency going on in his family. I am a very understanding and caring individual and I did not push the issue and asked that he contact me when he had time and the crisis in his family settled down. NEVER received a call or text back. of course, this was AFTER the whole project had been paid for. It wasn't until the guy he sent to bolt down the dishwasher, I asked him if the areas i was concerned about were cracks and he assured me they were not and called them fissures. I accepted this. John also replaced my (only 6 month old over the counter mounted sink that cost me $600 because I opted for a 16 gauge sink) to ensure that it be good quality and less noise resistance and a deeper sink than I originally had (more of an apt style sink). John, stated that he only uses 16 guage sinks as his undercounts for granite countertops. Within a mont, my sink is scratched. i called John and explained this to him and voice my dissatisfaction with the sink because it should not have scratched this soon if it was of a good quality (like the one i paid $600 for). John stated , "how did you already scratch it?" i don't even wash any dishes because everything is placed in the dishwasher and nothing really sits in the sink. I am VERY unhappy with the sink. John stated that he would order me a sink guard to place in the sink to alleviate any other scratches and this was more than 4 months ago and I have yet to see it. Also, when the guy came out to screw in the dishwasher, which was in December 11, 2020, the guy stated that he would be back the next day with the sink guard and here we are on January 11 (one month later) and i still do NOT have a sink guard and the scratches in the sink are even worse. There is nothing to take the scratches away. i have only had the sink in since July 30, 2020 and the sink looks horrible!!! I still question the guage of the sink and if it is a 16 guage sink, then it is VERY CHEAP!!!! Another issue is that the face board of the cabinet was pulled away from the cabinet once the countertop was put on. I sent a picture to John as soon as it was noticed back in early August and nothing was done about it. I had forgotten that i sent this to him and again noticed it when the dishwasher got screwed back in and sent him another picture of it and he reminded me that I had sent him the picture back in August. I know that this was done during installation of the cabinets because I had epoxy done on the formica cabinets and have pictures of the epoxy job that was botched and there was epoxy all over my wall in that same corner and the face of that cabinet was not pulled away from the wall. The reason I know this is because I had to send pictures to the epoxy company to explain to them that they had epoxy everywhere and this was one spot (by my garbage can), they had missed and when they came back to apply the epoxy, they slapped it on and got it all over the wall and down the side of the tile. So, the process is very solid up until the point you have issues and then it feels like there is no follow up on any issues you have after the job is paid and they move onto other jobs.

They responded quickly, made an appt. with a half hour window, showed up on time, provided a thorough solution to our water damage/rodent problem, gave us a reasonable written estimate then banged out the job on-time a few days later. FYI they are devout Christians who gave us a brochure about finding Jesus with their card, but they were not pushy about this.

Granite Transformation installed our bathroom shower and for the second time the shower floor is uneven and tiles are coming up! So in August 2020 we called them about repairing the shower floor for the third time. Their tile person came out to see what the problem was and admitted the reason the problem continued to happen was poor installation bad pitch on floor, combined with wrong choice thin glass tiles (which was recommended by their staff.) Granite Transformation tile person suggested that for the repair we should use same tiles on shower floor that they installed on the rest of the bathroom floor. He said the tiles were thicker and better suited for shower floor. After their tile guy left, we made several phone calls to Granite Transformation with no call back or Office manager saying she would get back to us! This went on for more than three weeks, so finally my husband drove to the Farmington Hills showroom and after waiting at the showroom for more than two hours, He finally talked to owner of Granite Transformation. The Owner agreed to replace tiles again no charge for materials (tiles and supplies)but labor cost of $800 would be our responsibility. We were then told they could not schedule repair until sometime in February 2021, but would not give us an exact date or time. Under the circumstances and time it would take for Granite Transformation to do repairs we decided to get to additional estimates so we could get work done in a timely manner! We got two bids from local tile companies and decided to hire Antonio’s Tile. Once again we contacted Granite Transformation owner in Farmington Hills and requested that he give us the tile and we will have it installed by someone who can do it in a reasonable amount of time. On November 11, 2020 the OWNER sent us a text stating there would a $600 charge for the 12sq. Feet of tiles we needed. He also stated he was the new owner and really not responsible for our shower. This is the same company name at the same location in Farmington Hills. We have now had a real tile company come in to fix our shower; He stated he has never seen such a poor tile job. He also stated that the thin glass tiles plus the poor pitch of the tile was reason the tiles continued to come up. Antonio our new tile person recommended we go to VirginiaTile and choose a porcelain or ceramic tile. The cost for 12sq. feet of porcelain tiles was $168. (Not $600 that Granite Transformation wanted) The work is now done correctly with with us absorbing the total cost! Nick and his associates did a fantastic job. We had some water damage caused by a poorly installed roofing / shingles. The damage took years to become evident. They corrected the water damage, and roofing issue. From removing the old rotting boards, to painting the replacements. Nick gave us an estimate on the repairs that he could see. The contract was a per hour + supplies bases, because of possible unknowns after the demo of the old. There was some additional work that needed to be done, but after completion, the estimate was pretty much on the money. I emailed Ion Construction through Angie's list on a Sunday, and on Thursday the project was completed. Based on this project that Ion Construction took on, I would recommend them highly. When another project comes along, I will defiantly contact Nick for an estimate. Thanks Nick!
