I did learn, the first time I called them, that their network is inadequate and it is best not to rely on them for a contractor referral - the companies they asked me to call were either inactive or simply didn't return my calls. CAP will provide the coverage they promise, but it is best to have your own numbers ready to call. In the event of a problem with a covered appliance or system, simply call CAP for an authorization number, call your service company and request that they call CAP after diagnosing the problem (provide the authorization number to them), and then have your contractor send you the bill after the repair is complete. The downside is that you pay for the repairs up front - the advantage, I've found, is that CAP will reimburse you completely with no hassles, and usually within about two weeks. My last heat pump repair ran about $400 - a few like that will really make you appreciate the value of a $77 monthly premium

The bad thing about Sears is that you have to pay the entire amount upfront. They send excellent people out who are on time. They call 30 minutes before they come. "They do not replace for like kind. They put the cheapest brand name in regardless of the brand or model number being replaced. This was not explained to me at the time of purchase. When I called and inquired they just said Sorry there is nothing we can do. They charge you 49.99 per month plus a service fee of 55.00 at the time of service. This was not told to me at the time of purchase. Although I had a disagreement with the Company most Home warranty Companies don't even cover the garbage disposal. So all in all I guess this company isn't as bad as I thought. My cost is in line with the other Companies. The biggest issue for these home warranty Companies is hiring a quality Company to do the work to be Contracted.

"I have Rescue Link's Single PC Pack which is an extended warranty for my laptop and also has unlimited tech support. I use the tech support every month to run a PC tune up and it doesn't cost me any sort of fee or deductible beyond what my monthly charge is. My laptop is three years old and I purchased this warranty earlier this year. I recently spilled a soda on my laptop and called to file a claim. This warranty covers accidental damage for laptops and tablets so I was able to call to file a claim. They answered the phone and asked a few questions like: what is the serial number of the laptop, what operating system do you use and about how much did you pay for the laptop. After answering these questions, they told me that my claim was approved and that I would receive a postage paid box within two business days. I received the box with the materials required to safely ship my laptop. It was actually kind of funny because they even provided a premeasured length of tape to close the box. I filled out the paper asking for my password (so that they can get into the computer to make sure that the repairs were completed) and took the box to the UPS drop off site. Two days later I got a call stating that they received the box and would start repairs. Three days after that, they called me and told me that they had everything except the keyboard fixed and were just waiting on the new keyboard. Two days later, I was told that they had the keyboard and would be shipping me my repaired computer and I should receive it in two to three business days. All said, it only took seven days from the time that they received my computer for me to get it back. They even cleaned it. I am very happy with this service.
