"Iron mountain was a great company to work with. They poured retaining walls, new concrete steps and sidewalks at my commercial building and the work is beautiful. They were great with the required schedules, performing work professionally, and keeping the job site cleaned up. I highly recommend them and will continue to use them on future projects."

"Micheal was very courteous and friendly. He didn't mind driving a distance to help me out. He did a wonderful job of weeding and trimming up my yard and hauled off all the dropped branches. I highly recommend. Five starts all the way!"

"Went above and beyond with my expectations! Ben's creative and unique process for depicting ideas from materials to it's ideal placement. For our master bathroom shower he advised large tiles from floor to ceiling to make the illusion of a larger area. He customized a design that included 4 different types of tiles with it's own unique shade of grey tones. Small tile design cover the shower head from ceiling to bottom, the shower floors are a different surface texture to avoid accidents and slip! Ben thought of everything. Our guest bathroom we were working with a standard small space. we added a tub, but were contemplating on adding more cabinets. Ben suggested these innovated vertical pull out cabinets for storage. AMAZING! we completely updated our bathrooms to year 2020. This company brings fresh ideas for any home renovations... as their motto goes quality work versus quantity."

Landscaping questions, answered by experts

The best type of rock for landscaping depends on your specific project and needs, as different rocks are suited for different applications. For covering large areas or creating an affordable driveway, consider gravel, but note that it can wash away in flowing water. For water features, river rocks are a good option. Flagstone and cobblestone are ideal for aesthetically pleasing patios and walkways. If you are building a stone wall, fieldstone or small boulders are up to the task. Large boulders and landscape rocks work well as statement pieces, to fill empty space, or to indicate boundaries, but be mindful that they can overwhelm smaller gardens. The best approach is to first define your landscaping project and then select the rock type that best fits that purpose.

If you use the wrong plants for your gardening zone, you’ll likely get less than desirable yields from them. In some cases, your plants can even die. It’s important to ensure that your plants are able to survive in your hardiness zone before getting them into the ground.

Xeriscaping can be more affordable than traditional landscaping, but it depends on your landscape design. However, you will save on water. If you live in an arid climate or a location prone to droughts, xeriscaping is an especially efficient way of reducing your lawn’s water demand without detracting from the beauty of your yard.

The best landscape edging tool depends on you and your needs. For homeowners who are looking for a budget-friendly edging material, plastic might be the best option for them. However, homeowners who want a low-maintenance option might opt for concrete or brick. Since there are loads of gardening edging ideas, decide what factors (maintenance, style, or budget) are most important to you to help you narrow your choices.

There are some instances when you can use extra drywall in your garden. Ideally, unused scraps of new drywall are best for amending soil without the concern of additional chemicals or mold. However, drywall with paint, mold, or potential asbestos requires specialized disposal by a professional and should be kept out of your garden.
