"I contacted Advanced Construction Concepts to get an estimate for removing an old deck and pouring a concrete pad in its place. I also needed a French Drain put in the yard and a deck roof repaired. Price was a little high but fair for the end result. Weather delayed getting the project started but after a couple hiccups which were immediately corrected the project was completed. Jason Vance kept me updated throughout the project. His crew are the hardest working men I’ve seen. I would recommend this company and will use them in the future if I have any new projects I need done. Thanks Jason and crew!"

"Needed a couple trees trimmed and Jake came and gave me an estimate. Him and his crew were there a couple days later, did the job, cleaned up, and it looked great. Would strongly recommend them for any lawn care, landscaping, or tree trimming."

Landscaping questions, answered by experts

The best landscape edging tool depends on you and your needs. For homeowners who are looking for a budget-friendly edging material, plastic might be the best option for them. However, homeowners who want a low-maintenance option might opt for concrete or brick. Since there are loads of gardening edging ideas, decide what factors (maintenance, style, or budget) are most important to you to help you narrow your choices.

Yes, weeds can still grow in decomposed granite. If properly compacted, it can act as a good weed suppressant, meaning you’ll only pull weeds occasionally. But no ground cover is completely weed-proof. To further prevent weeds, you can try spraying your decomposed granite with distilled white vinegar.

A window flower box should be deep enough that there’s room for a wide selection of plants and the required amount of soil and gravel. Standard flower boxes are 8 inches deep and 8 inches from front to back. Larger is better to increase the variety of plants in the box, but you could run into stability issues as it increases in weight.

The duration of a lakefront landscaping project is determined by its scope, environmental conditions, and weather impacts. It often takes several weeks to a few months to complete.

Surface-level tree roots might only pose a small threat, such as being a tripping hazard or obstacle when you mow your lawn. But if mature tree roots start growing in the direction of your home’s foundation or plumbing system, it could be a real problem. Cutting small tree roots out before they grow too large can keep your home safe without removing the whole tree.
