"I highly recommend Andrewâ s Tree Service. This is the second time weâ ve had them out for tree work. Obviously we were happy the first time, since we called again, but weâ re even more pleased this time. He is extremely responsive and communicative. His pricing was much better than anyone else who quoted the job. He and his crew are very reliable and professional. This time they took down 3 huge poplars, one that was very close to a building, with ease. We wonâ t hesitate to use him in the future or recommend to any family or friends. Thanks again, Andrew!"

"Fast, very reasonable. I have never had anyone as prompt and quick as Cassidy Tree Service. They came and removed and cleaned up a large dead oak tree. When they left you would have not known that there was a tree cut down."

"I had a really good experience with Solid Rock. They showed up on time, were friendly and respectful, and got the tree work done efficiently. I was especially happy with the cleanup afterward. They didn?t leave a mess behind and made sure the property looked great before they left. Everything went smoothly, and I really appreciate the work they did. I would definitely recommend them to anyone needing tree work."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Whether you grind or dig up and remove your tree stump depends on your landscaping goals. Using a stump grinder leaves the root system in place for it to decompose over time, whereas digging up the tree stump removes the roots and the stump. Overall, stump grinding is a far simpler process since you won’t need to deal with the roots. Stump removal will make your yard look like a demolition site, but you’ll have an easier time replanting in the same place as your former tree.

Generally, avoid trimming trees in the summer (with the exception of pruning fruit trees as needed). Trees use a lot of energy in the summer, most of which is relegated to new growth. If you chop it too early, you could stunt the next season's growth. Again, when in doubt, do some research based on the specific tree type.

Whether tree roots will continue to grow after a tree has been cut down depends on the species. Some tree roots will eventually die because they can no longer get nutrients through photosynthesis. However, other species that reproduce through root sprouts can continue to grow and produce new sprouts for seven years or more. For example, the roots of elms, ficus, and willows tend to regrow aggressively, while the roots of pines, oaks, and maples will typically die. To determine if a root system is still active, look for new sprouts on the old trunk, stump, or any exposed roots.

Most jobs take 2-8 hours, but extensive trimming may take multiple days.

It depends on the problem, the affected part of the tree, the risk of the pathogen spreading, and the overall health of your tree. Many diseases, fungal infections, and insect infestations can be successfully treated, especially if the issue is only in a few branches. However, if a disease is too widespread, too severe, too easily spread, or in the roots, the tree will likely need to be removed.
