Dry rot or severe water damage may warrant a replacement, but you don’t always need to replace damaged subflooring. Vinyl plank flooring is widely considered to be the best flooring for mobile homes. It’s designed to look like other materials, such as hardwood or stone, for a lower cost. It’s durable, waterproof, and easy to install. Engineered hardwood and laminate flooring are also good options.

You can expect your carpet protection to last about six months to two years. It will last longer in low-traffic areas (compared to busy areas, where your carpet experiences more wear and tear). Once the protector wears off, you’ll need to call your carpet contractor to reapply the stain protection treatment and revive your carpet. 

Because concrete is porous, installing flooring directly onto the surface is not a good idea.
