"We had our house in Winona painted this summer by La Crosse Painters. I have to say from beginning to end it was a pleasure working with La Crosse Painters and his crew! The owner responded to out initial call for a quote the same day. We have a two story house with a three story walk out that needed the exterior stained. John and Marshall came and were kind, courteous, and very professional. We have a German Shepherd so 1 was a little nervous on how she would be with them. Well she absolutely loved them and they loved her! With them being here every day it was so nice to have pet friendly guys doing the work. Factors that can shorten its lifespan include high humidity (such as in a bathroom), dirty walls, and low-quality paper. If used on flooring, expect it to last only 1 to 3 years unless sealed. However, the shorter lifespan can be seen as a positive, making it a great choice for people who enjoy switching up their interiors more frequently.

Painting over wallpaper is an efficient way to cover it if it’s in decent shape. Before painting over wallpaper, make sure the surface is clean and smooth. You may have to remove minor problem areas, such as lifted seams or small peels, with a sheetrock knife or putty knife. Add a latex- or oil-based primer to keep moisture at bay before painting. You’ll likely need two coats of paint to cover the area.

We don’t recommend wallpapering over older paper. That’s because creating layers of glue can invite bubbling or excess moisture on the wall’s surface. You should also prime your wall before applying wallpaper and smooth the wall as much as you can, and another layer of wallpaper complicates this process.

However, if you’re applying peel-and-stick wallpaper to unfinished drywall, you’ll need to apply a primer first.

If you can already see the texture of the existing wallpaper through the layer of paint, then the texture could also come through the new layer of wallpaper. If that’s the aesthetic you want, then proceed. But if you want a smoother surface, you should either strip off the existing paint and wallpaper or hang a layer of liner paper before proceeding.
